Vocal talent runs in the family!

Nancy Cartwright, a longtime voice actress on The Simpsons, is indeed related to pop star Sabrina Carpenter.

Cartwright, 66, who voices Bart Simpson on the animated sitcom, confirmed in her July 9 TikTok that she is an aunt to the “Espresso” singer, 25.

Cartwright excitedly answered a fan question about their connection. “Yeah! Absolutely!” she replied.

“Isn’t that amazing?" she began. "Maybe you’ve known me for a little while, doing this little 10-year-old boy for 35 some years — and some of you guys for way less than that — and find out that I’m related to this superstar.”

“She’s pretty amazing,” concluded Cartwright.

“The rumors are true! Sabrina Carpenter is my niece! 🥰,” read her TikTok video caption.

Several fans of the two shared the surprise in Cartwright's comment section. "But why does Sabrina being related to Bart Simpson makes so much sense??? it really is a family attitude 🤣🥰🤣," wrote one user.

"Can we hear Bart sing espresso?! PLEASEEEEE," asked one user. "I love the proud Aunt vibes," added another user.

Although Cartwright is known for her Emmy-winning role as the Simpsons' only son, the actress also lends her voice to Ralph Wiggum, Todd Flanders, Nelson Muntz and Maggie Simpson. Cartwright has also voiced Chuckie on Rugrats, Rufus in Kim Possible, Mindy in Animaniacs and many more familiar characters.

Carpenter also lent her voice to children’s programming, playing characters in Phineas and Ferb before she starred in Girl Meets World, both on Disney Channel.

Since then, Carpenter has starred in Mean Girls on Broadway, appeared in several TV shows and a few movies, opened for Ariana Grande, toured around the globe as Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour opener and now hit pop stardom.

Carpenter's latest single, “Please Please Please,” reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart on Monday, June 24. Her breakout hit  “Espresso” landed at No. 4 on the Hot 100 that same week and peaked at No. 3 earlier in June.

“Espresso” was released just before her Coachella debut in April 2024 and was quickly met with fanfare. Listeners declared the “Song of Summer” and she also received shoutouts from Adele, Joey King and  Milo Manheim for the catchy tune.

Both "Espresso" and "Please Please Please" are featured on Carpenter's upcoming sixth album, Short n’ Sweet, which will be released on Aug. 23. She will also go on tour to support the album this fall.
