Michael Imperioli Opens a Bar in N.Y.C. — Plus More Celebrity-Owned Restaurants

The White Lotus and The Sopranos star recently opened Scarlet, a sleek bar and lounge in Manhattan's Upper West Side neighborhood. The new establishment is a partnership with restaurateur Jeremy Wladis and Imperioli's wife, Victoria, who designed the stylish space. Some of the cocktails — which were conceptualized by mixologist Matt Burkhardt — are inspired by Imperioli's projects. For example, The White Lotus drink is a "clarified punch" of Don Q Cristal Rum, pineapple, yuzu, coconut sugar and champagne, per a release. The menu also includes bites like seared sea scallops, plus an "upscale" non-alcoholic drink menu.

Nicholas Braun

Jac's on Bond, New York

The beloved Succession star (who plays Cousin Greg), teamed up with Authentic Hospitality, the group behind New York City mainstays like Pebble Bar and The Jane, as an investor to open a new concept in Manhattan. Jac's on Bond transformed an 1831 townhouse into a chic bar fitted with pool tables and creative cocktails, like a caprese martini — though Braun tells Grubstreet he'd rather sip something "extremely basic" like a tequila soda over a signature cocktail.

Bad Bunny

Gekko, Miami

Add a new title to the Puerto Rican-born musician's stacked career — restauranteur. The Japanese-inspired steakhouse, Gekko, is the star's first restaurant and opened on Aug. 12. The "Ojitos Lindos" singer told Food & Wine that Miami was the perfect choice for his first restaurant, saying, "The culture reminds me of home." He also told the outlet that A5 Tomahawk, Wagyu crispy rice and lobster fried rice are his favorite items on the menu.

Martha Stewart

The Bedford, Las Vegas

The lifestyle icon is bringing inspiration from her farmhouse in New York to the Las Vegas strip! Stewart's first-ever restaurant, the Bedford, is located at the Paris Vegas hotel and offers a French-inspired menu.

"I am so thrilled to open the doors to The Bedford at Paris Las Vegas," she said in a statement. "I think visitors will be enchanted by what we have come up with. These are the same dishes that I serve to family and friends in my own home."

Audrey's Coffee House & Lounge, South Kingston, Rhode Island

The couple, who met on the second season of Bachelor in Paradise, opened their coffee shop in December 2021. From Bachelor viewing parties to meet and greets with franchise favorites, the cafe is an homage to the show the pair met on.

"We have so many nods because we love the franchise. And we're very appreciative of everything that the franchise has given to us," Haibon told PEOPLE. "We're very lucky that we ended up falling in love and met because of The Bachelor. Legitimately, there would be no Audrey's without The Bachelor."

Ole Red

The country singer is building an empire of musical restaurants. The Voice coach has several Ole Red locations, all of which combine food and music under one roof. Named after his first hit "Ol' Red," Shelton opened the first restaurant in his hometown of Tishomingo, O.K. back in 2017 and now has restaurants in Nashville, T.N., Gatlinburg, T.N. and Orlando, F.L. with another location planned for Las Vegas in 2023.

The Jonas Brothers

Nellie's Southern Kitchen

The whole JoBro crew is spreading their love of music and Southern food across the country. Nellie's Southern Kitchen, which is named after Kevin Sr.'s late grandmother, first opened in Belmont, N.C. in 2016. Following the success of the location in Kevin Sr.'s hometown, the Jonas family decided bring Nellie's to Las Vegas. Kevin, Joe and Nick Jonas were joined by Kevin Sr., Denise, Frankie, Danielle, and other family members in June 2022 to celebrate the Las Vegas location of the Southern spot.

Peyton Manning

Saloon 16, Knoxville, Tenn.

The former NFL star is paying tribute to his alma mater. Manning's Tennessee-based restaurant is part of Graduate Knoxville, a hotel close to the University of Tennessee, where Manning kickstarted his football career. Naturally, the menu and overall ambiance are inspired by the college's history and traditions.

Eminem

Mom's Spaghetti, Detroit

Starting on Sept. 29, Slim Shady is serving up Italian cuisine in his newly opened Mom's Spaghetti. The spot, named after Eminem's 2002 Oscar and Grammy-winning tune, "Lose Yourself," is located in the rapper's hometown of Detroit. With a menu of spaghetti, meatballs and a s'getti sandwich, fans can pick-up the food from the spot's walk-up window.

Tony Hawk

Chick N. Hawk, Encinitas, Calif.

The legendary skateboarder, 53, has teamed up with chef Andrew Bachelier to create a surf and skate-themed chicken restaurant. In addition to chicken sandwiches, Chick N' Hawk will serve a wide array of seafood including shrimp cocktail, fish ceviche and raw bar options following it's planned opening in Spring 2022. According to Eater San Diego, the retired skater is the restaurant's chief taste tester and working to design the restaurant to capture a 90s aesthetic.

Justin Theroux

Ray's, New York

The actor is part-owner in the dive bar in N.Y.C.'s Lower East Side neighborhood he invested in "with a couple friends" including Nicholas Braun (a.k.a. Cousin Greg from Succession). Rustic and cozy in appearance with country Western vibes, the bar has become a celebrity hot spot since its opening in July 2019, attracting stars like Gigi Hadid and Dave Chapelle. It's located on Chrystie Street, where the now-shuttered Le Turtle once stood. (Theroux often promoted Le Turtle when it was still open.)

PHARRELL, SWAN AND BAR BEVY

The singer partnered up with nightlife guru David Grutman on Swan and Bar Bevy, a dual restaurant and cocktail lounge in Miami's Design District. Swan serves a menu created by executive chef Jean Imbert that "emphasizes clean eating," according to a press release, while Bar Bevy is open for drinks on the second floor. The space aims to bring a bohemian feel with a rooftop lounge, outdoor garden and pastel color palette.

OLIVA CULPO, BACK 40

The former Miss USA winner is going back to her roots by opening a family restaurant in her home state of Rhode Island alongside her father, Peter Culpo, and cousin Josh Culpo. Olivia celebrated the opening night on August 28, 2017 by posting a first look at the red farmhouse building, which seats 165 people including dining space on the back patio. The menu features "American comfort food" like crispy Brussels sprouts, a pepperoni burger and lobster mac and cheese.

CHIP & JOANNA GAINES, MAGNOLIA TABLE

Now that the Fixer Upper stars' Silos Baking Co. bakery is up and running, the couple is turning their attention to their next project: a new breakfast and lunch restaurant in Waco, Texas. The menu features Chip's "famous ham sandwich," as well as "the Farm eggs benedict, the Gaines Brothers Burger, and of course our homemade pies!" And, of course, the couple is taking great care with the overall look of the space: "We've spent a good amount of time finalizing the design of the new restaurant—from carefully choosing finishes, textures, and paint colors, to designing the tables, chairs, and light fixtures," Joanna writes in a blog post.

FLORIDA GEORGIA LINE, FGL HOUSE

The multi-platinum duo—Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard—opened their very own four-level restaurant and entertainment venue called FGL House in Nashville in 2017, which they said felt like opening the doors to their home. "It was something BK and I always thought would be neat, whether it was a bar or a restaurant — we've talked about opening a coffee shop before," Hubbard tells PEOPLE exclusively. "We have a knack for food and beverage; taking care of our friends and our people."

JON BON JOVI, SOUL KITCHEN

When Jon and his wife Dorothea opened three locations of their volunteer-run Soul Kitchen in New Jersey, they wanted to create a community where diners pay if they can, a model that was Dorothea's brainchild. "My wife does all the work," Jon joked to PEOPLE. "And I get all the credit!" Unlike at a standard soup kitchen, diners of all socioeconomic backgrounds sit together at communal tables, as the restaurant serves both paying customers and those in need. All the ingredients used in the menu, which includes comfort food like pan-seared salmon, homemade jalapeno cornbread and spinach rice, are sourced within five miles.

SANDRA BULLOCK, WALTON'S FANCY & STAPLE

Although she closed her French restaurant Bess Bistro in 2015, Bullock still runs her hybrid bakery, takeout deli, coffee shop, florist and catering operation in Austin, Texas. On her Southern comfort food menu: biscuits and gravy, shrimp and grits and, of course, honey-bee cake for dessert.

LUDACRIS, CHICKEN + BEER

The Grammy-winning rapper and hip hop artist teamed up with chef Andrew Tabb to open a new Southern comfort food spot in Atlanta's busy Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport. Named after his album Chicken-n-Beer, the supper-style restaurant menu includes dishes like Luda's Chicken and Pecan Waffles with a whiskey-maple sauce and Cajun boiled-peanut hummus.

GLORIA & EMILIO ESTEFAN, ESTEFAN KITCHEN

The musician power couple opened their upscale Cuban eatery in Kissimmee—serving everything from croquetas and bocaditos (bite-size sandwiches made with pimento cheese) to marinated roast pork and sweet plantain flat breads. "This is what people come to Miami for — great food, great drinks, great music," Emilio told the Miami Herald.

HUGH JACKMAN, LAUGHING MAN COFFEE SHOP

In 1999, the Logan star and his wife Deb traveled to Ethiopia to visit a community development project and met a young coffee farmer named Dukale, who was working to lift his family out of poverty. Inspired by Dukale's story, Jackman launched Laughing Man Coffee and opened his two New York City coffee shops to help farmers in developing countries to sell their goods. Jackman donates all of the profits from the coffee to his Laughing Man Foundation, which he created to support educational programs, community development and social entrepreneurs around the world.

JON HUERTAS, CLUTCH

Not only is Huertas a star on NBC's hit-drama This Is Us, he also owns a rugged Cali-Mex restaurant in Venice, California. The Highway 1 roadhouse bar — a hot-spot for motorcyclists and classic car enthusiasts — features barbecue, surf and turf and craft cocktails.

NORMAN REEDUS, NIC & NORMAN'S

Don't expect to see any zombies at The Walking Dead star's new restaurant. With two locations - Secoia, Georgia, where the series is filmed, and Chattanooga, Tennessee - the eatery offers an American menu filled with options like Norman's burger (a bison patty with beetroot, spinach, onions, fried egg and mustard—without a bun), barbecue grilled flatbread, gourmet potpie and Georgia peach cobbler. "It's something to pay tribute to the area where we shoot the show, and have the cast and the crew have a place to call their own," says co-owner and TWD director Greg Nicotero.

MARK & DONNIE WAHLBERG, WAHLBURGERS

The multi-hyphenate brothers opened the first location of their family-run burger joint in 2015 outside Boston. Since then, the Wahlbergs launched the Wahlburgers reality series on A&E and expanded their burger empire quickly—with plans to open 150 locations worldwide. "I realized what a great opportunity it would be to build a business with my family and pass it on to generations," Mark told PEOPLE. When asked if he hopes to pass the business on to his kids, he said, "Yes, that is the hope and the dream. Absolutely."

SUSAN SARANDON, SPiN

The Oscar-winning actress opened her first ping pong venue and bar in New York City, and has since opened more SPiN clubs in Los Angeles, Chicago, Las Vegas, Toronto and even Dubai. For guests not into playing, there's plenty of eating to be had—including hearty flatbreads, sliders and milkshakes.

TY BURRELL, THE EATING ESTABLISHMENT

The Modern Family actor is adding another spot to his restaurant repertoire. Burrell's family-owned restaurant group purchased the traditional American eatery in Park City, Utah. "This is a local institution," he said. "We hope to maintain the name and spirit of the original."

ROBERT DE NIRO, NOBU

The iconic actor has quite the culinary presence in New York City—opening Tribeca Grill, Locanda Verde and, the jewel of the collection, Nobu. Working with Nobu Matsuhisa, the Japanese chef who made black cod with miso famous, on the upscale eatery's menu, DeNiro has expanded the restaurant empire to open Nobu locations in nearly 50 cities, including Honolulu, Moscow and Budapest.

DANNY TREJOS, TREJO'S TACOS

The action star is taking on a new action-packed role: restaurant owner! The Machete actor has opened several taco shack in several cities. Funny enough, the first location in Los Angeles took over a former Taco Bell building in Spring 2015. The fast-casual joint serves cantina-style bites, booze and, of course, a variety of tacos.

JAY Z, 40/40 CLUB

From Manhattan and Brooklyn to Atlantic City and Las Vegas, the rapper's swanky sports bar and lounge caters to the masses from coast-to-coast, serving up gameday-inspired appetizers, hearty entrees, fine liquors and pricey bottle service. "I love sports and wanted to create an environment that is conducive to match my lifestyle, while watching the games at the same time," Jay Z said.

PIPER PERABO, JACK'S WIFE FREDA

Although the actress might have gotten famous playing a bartender in Coyote Ugly, in real life she owns two Manhattan restaurants: the newer Jack's Wife Freda, in Soho, as well as Employees Only, which opened in 2005 in the West Village. At Jack's, owners Dean and Maya Jankelowitz are proprietors and co-owners, and hail from Israel and South Africa, respectively. The food at this cozy, locally loved spot takes its cues from the owners' roots: Along with standards like burgers and mussels, they've woven in dishes like matzo ball soup, fried fish balls and African peri-peri (flame grilled) chicken.

CHANNING TATUM, SAINTS AND SINNERS

You're either a saint or a sinner at Tatum's restaurant-bar, a tribute to New Orleans nightlife and the city's Storyville red-light, Burlesque district. Located minutes away from N.Y.C.'s Central Park and Lincoln Center, the classic Italian restaurant boasts an extensive wine list, including "The Gaga Collection," a bottle selection featuring the singer's name.

DIERKS BENTLEY, WHISKEY ROW

In the mood for corn cakes, picklebacks and country music? Then you're in luck if you nab a seat at Dierks Bentley's bar, located in Scottsdale, Gilbert, Nashville and, soon, Denver. In addition to the Southwestern-inspired cuisine, patrons can choose from a drink list featuring 40 different types of whiskey and Bentley's signature mixers.

Hey girl, have you heard about Ryan Gosling's Beverly Hills restaurant? TY BURRELL, BEER BAR

Attention beer connoisseurs: The Modern Family actor's bar might just have a brew right up your alley. The Salt Lake City beer garden offers 150 beers, housemade sausages and the restaurant's signature breakfast poutine, made with … you guessed it: beer gravy. "It's a super simple menu," Burrell told the Associated Press "Basic, but well-made and local. Instead of putting the energy into a lot of elements, [we] have fewer elements and are taking the time to make them right."
