Our ideal candidate is an experienced tutor and/or teacher who is able to adapt to different learning styles, create a customized learning plan for their student, and push students to excel beyond expectations.
We need tutors located in Central Brevard who can tutor various subjects and grade levels from K-12, but are especially looking for tutors for: * *Reading and ELA*, K-6th Grade * *Math*, K-6th grade * Middle School and High School *Math*, including: *Prealgebra, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, Trigonometry, Precalculus, and Calculus* *What We Offer:* * Flexibility: set your own schedule and work around important things in your life such as your own education, interests, or career (hours range from 1 to 5 hours per week, with the possibility of more in time for experienced tutors) * Earn additional income while continuing with your studies or career opportunities * The opportunity to sharpen and showcase your technical knowledge, organizational skills, creativity, and communication skills * Build your resume and professional references for future career opportunities * The opportunity to give back by helping others achieve their potential.
Make a lasting difference in the lives of students and families in our community! *Responsibilities Include:* * Travelling to a student’s home for in-person tutoring and/or conducting live virtual sessions * Initiating contact with the family within 24 hours of being assigned a student * Scheduling tutoring sessions with the student and their family * Establishing academic goals with the student * Creating and implementing lesson plans for the student * Documenting and communicating the student’s progress * Preparing session reports for the student’s family and our office within 48 hours of a session * Assisting students with executive, organizational, and study skills if needed *Minimum Qualifications:* * Education: completion of 2 years of college (a Bachelor’s degree, graduate degree, or Florida teaching certificate are a plus) * Reliable Transportation * Experience in tutoring or teaching * Ability to develop rapport with students * Great organizational and communication skills * Must be dependable and a self-starter that is able to work independently * Demonstrated subject expertise in the areas you will be tutoring * Ability to pass Level 1 Federal and County Background Check * _A desire to help others and change the trajectory of our students’ lives_ AVAILABILITY: after-school tutoring generally occurs between 3:00-8:00 p.

; summer tutoring and homeschool tutoring offer daytime hours as well.
TIMING: The timing and quantity of assigned students depend on the availability of students requiring your particular subject; therefore, though we do our best, *we cannot guarantee hours*, and it may take time to be assigned your first student.
LOCATION: *We need tutors located across all of Central Brevard*, including Melbourne, Melbourne Beach, Palm Bay, Satellite Beach, Indialantic, Cocoa Beach, Suntree, Viera, Rockledge, Merritt Island COMPENSATION: range is based on the applicant’s experience and the student’s needs.
