Travis Kelce emerges without Taylor Swift during Chiefs’ bye week, appears to be filming ‘Happy Gilmore 2’ cameo
Travis Kelce appears to be stretching his acting muscles during his NFL team’s bye week.
Hollywood producer Bryan Zuriff shared via his Instagram Stories Thursday that he was on a FaceTime call with the Kansas City Chiefs tight end, 35.
In the post, Kelce, who was dressed in a costume, flashed a giant smile. He appeared to be on a film set.
The three-time Super Bowl champ has been shooting the sequel to the 1996 sports comedy “Happy Gilmore” in recent months.
In August, the movie’s star Adam Sandler confirmed Kelce has a cameo in “Happy Gilmore 2.”
“We have something nice for Travis. He’s going to come by,” the comedian, 58, said on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” at the time.
The upcoming Netflix flick has been filming at different locations in New Jersey, which would explain why Kelce hopped on a private jet with girlfriend Taylor Swift to the East Coast after his Chiefs game Monday.
Although Swift, 34, was also on that flight, she was not seen anywhere in Zuriff’s Instagram Story post.
Page Six reached out to Kelce’s reps for confirmation on whether he is indeed back on set but did not immediately hear back.
The pro football player previously played coy on his plans for the Chiefs’ bye week, the one time during the NFL season where the Kansas City team will get a full week off to rest.
“You got any bye week plans?” his brother, Jason Kelce, asked on the latest episode of their “New Heights” podcast.
“Of course I do,” Travis responded, without giving away any more information. “But if any of it comes out [in the press], I’m sure we’ll talk about it on the show.”
What the NFL star has not kept secret, however, is how much he enjoys acting. He previously stated that he hopes to land more movie roles in the future.
Travis recently made his official acting debut in Ryan Murphy’s new FX series “Grotesquerie.”
He played a character named Eddie Laclan, a nurse at a hospital caring for the husband of Lois Tyron, played by co-star Niecy Nash-Betts.
In 2023, Travis also showed Hollywood what he’s capable of by hosting “Saturday Night Live.”

Despite his foray into the world of entertainment, the athlete is not looking to leave behind football just yet.
Travis said on the “Rich Eisen Show” in September that retirement hasn’t crossed his mind “one bit.”
He said he’s having “so much fun” and is “just so appreciative and so fortunate that [he’s] been able to come into year 12 and still have this energy and this love and the ability to go out there and get to work.”
