Garcelle Beauvais relieved Scandoval overshadowed son’s kiss with Raquel
Garcelle Beauvais breathed a sigh of relief when news of Tom Sandoval’s affair with Raquel Leviss broke on March 3.
The “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star, 56, exclusively told Page Six she is glad that the Scandoval drama eclipsed her son Oliver Saunder’s kiss with Leviss, 28, that played out during the first portion of “Vanderpump Rules” Season 10.
“[I was] absolutely [relieved], you read my mind,” Beauvais told us Wednesday night at co-star Sutton Stracke’s four-year anniversary party for her Sutton Concept boutique in West Hollywood.
“Absolutely, I’m like, ‘OK, maybe not so bad,’” she added.
In an episode earlier this season, Saunders shared a steamy kiss with Leviss in Las Vegas — where he lives and works at Lisa Vanderpump’s Vanderpump à Paris restaurant.
Leviss — who was presumably involved with Sandoval, 40, at the time of her flirtations with Saunders — later claimed that Beauvais’ eldest “misled” her, alleging that she didn’t know he was technically still married to wife Samantha Saunders when the make-out session occurred last summer.
Oliver filed for divorce in September 2022. He and Samantha tied the knot in May 2020.
“Oliver had a little hand in some stuff,” Beauvais told Page Six. “They’re your babies but you can’t control them forever.”
The “Love Me As I Am” author suggested that Oliver is equally grateful that Leviss’ dalliance with Sandoval stole focus from his onscreen smooch with the former pageant queen.
“With Oliver, I’m like, ‘Phew,’ right?” she said.

Reflecting on her initial reaction to the story, Beauvais said she would have never predicted its ubiquity in this month’s news cycle.
“Who knew how big this was going to be? I mean, there was a ticker tape on CNN about it. And I was like, ‘What is going on?’ I guess people were invested,” she said, while acknowledging the betrayal against Ariana Madix, who dated Sandoval for nearly a decade.
“They were together for a long time.”
Beauvais — who has established a close friendship with Vanderpump, 62, in recent years — said that she and the restaurateur discuss the topic “a little bit more in depth,” though she is keeping the contents of those conversations private.
However, the “Coming 2 America” actress readily admitted that she would love to see Vanderpump reclaim her diamond after departing “RHOBH” in 2019 following nine consecutive seasons.
“I would absolutely love it,” Beauvais said of the OG star’s potential return to the Bravo hit.
“We have the best time, we kiki,” she elaborated. “We almost have the same sense of humor. She’s a little dryer than I am. But it would be great. Not everybody would love it, but it would be great.”
“Vanderpump Rules” airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET on Bravo.
