Tone-deaf Vogue editors are being mocked online for boasting about their elite holiday destinations.
In the nauseating piece “How the Vogue Editors are Spending Christmas This Year,” British Vogue fashion features editor Ellie Pithers is having a “spell” at Le Coucou in Méribel, where rooms designed by Pierre Yovanovitch start at $800. She will stop at Le Refuge de Solaise in Val d’Isère. “Only accessible via ski lift, it promises superlative stargazing and fresh powder before breakfast.”
Pithers aims to spend NYE: “Hopefully swathed in Paco Rabanne, twirling a fondue fork, swinging Chanel’s cable-car minaudière from my shoulder.”
Shopping editor Naomi Smart is heading to El Coyol, a secluded villa on a private island overlooking Lake Nicaragua.
Olivia Singer, executive fashion news editor, is going to “a seven-day detox programme” at the Lanserhof spa in Austria that will involve “intravenous vitamin drips” and minimal food, while wearing a cashmere sweatsuit and a dressing gown by Craig Green.
The editors’ wish lists included “a Leica camera,” “a ceramic Hermès tray” and “diamonds, of course — a woman can dream!”
