Anthony Rapp‘s next big project may include wedding planning.
On Saturday, the “Rent” and “Star Trek: Discovery” actor announced his engagement to boyfriend Ken Ithiphol, telling his 59,000 Instagram followers he’s “so very happy” to share the news.
“So something happened tonight. I asked @teerakeni if he would marry me and he said yes,” Rapp, 48, posted.
Ithiphol later took to Instagram and reposted a clip of Rapp’s proposal, as the future newlyweds celebrated the special moment with loved ones.
No stranger to social media, Rapp regularly shares photos of his travels with Ithiphol, which included an African safari in late 2017.
“We’re going to be in Africa, in Tanzania, on a safari, which is sort of a lifelong dream and it’s just worked out that it’s over the holidays,” Rapp told Entertainment Tonight at the time.
That same year, Rapp accused Kevin Spacey of making a sexual advance towards him when he was a teenager. Spacey later addressed Rapp’s claims in a tweet, stating he did not remember the alleged encounter.
Rapp said he was “incredibly moved by the supportive responses” he received since speaking out.
“I was surprised that it [was] met with a positive or meaningful response,” Rapp told the UK’s Attitude.
