Demi Lovato hospitalized after suspected heroin overdose

Demi Lovato has reportedly been hospitalized following a suspected heroin overdose.

The pop star, 25, was transported from her home in the Hollywood Hills to a Los Angeles-area hospital on Tuesday after paramedics found her unconscious, TMZ reported. The site also said she was treated with Narcan, an emergency treatment for narcotics overdoses.

Reached by Page Six, the Los Angeles Fire Department confirmed that emergency personnel received a call at 11:22 a.m. local time and responded to a residence on Lovato’s block shortly after. The fire department said that a 25-year-old woman was transported to a nearby hospital.

The Los Angeles Police Department said officers responded to a “medical emergency” at a residence on Lovato’s block at 11:40 a.m. Los Angeles time.

Lovato has never shied away from talking about her struggles with alcohol, cocaine and OxyContin.

Last month, she released the song “Sober,” in which she revealed she had fallen off the wagon after six years of sobriety. While performing the song in Brazil the next week, Lovato began to weep while singing the emotional lyrics, “And I’m sorry for the fans I lost / Who watched me fall again / I want to be a role model, but I’m only human.”

Earlier Tuesday, Lovato’s Twitter account shared that her pre-recorded appearance on the Jamie Foxx-hosted “Beat Shazam” was set to air that night on Fox. She was also scheduled to perform in Atlantic City on Thursday as part of her ongoing tour, but those plans have reportedly been scrapped.

She last performed Sunday at the California Mid-State Fair.
