At least one star had a God complex at the Met Gala on Monday — which made sense with the theme, “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination.”
Anne Hathaway posed for her own photo shoot in front of an exhibition inside the museum.
One report on the event said that “in a well-lit exhibit hall,” “The Devil Wears Prada” star “dropped to the floor and looked up to the sky” as husband Adam Shulman started snapping pics and Diane von Furstenberg joined in.
But a witness further told Page Six of the scene, “This went on for like a half-hour. Anne was sitting there like she thought she was a saint . . . She was acting as if she was Jesus.”
Luckily, to break the tension — or possibly to the parody the heavenly narcissism — eccentric Oscar winner Frances McDormand joined in the “tableau” to pose too.
