The Comcast takeover of NBC Universal is to be finalized this month but that didn’t stop “Today Show” anchor Matt Lauer from poking fun at the cable giant at yesterday’s Gotham Hall lunch touting the personalities and programs of NBC News. While Comcast honcho Steve Burke sat in the audience, Lauer noted that this year’s lunch fell on a Thursday and last year’s fell on a Tuesday and quipped, “In honor of the cable guys, next year this event will be held on a Wednesday — somewhere between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.”
