We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Exempt Organization Tax Executive with a proven track record in providing tax-related services to not-for-profit clients.
As an integral member of our organization, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing tax compliance, reporting, and planning for our exempt organization clients.
Your expertise in tax regulations and guidelines specific to the not-for-profit sector will be essential in ensuring our clients' tax obligations are met efficiently and effectively.

* Tax Compliance and Reporting:
o Lead the preparation and review of federal, state, and local tax filings for a diverse portfolio of not-for-profit clients.
o Ensure compliance with tax laws, regulations, and reporting requirements applicable to tax-exempt organizations.
o Coordinate and review the completion of annual IRS Form 990 and other relevant tax forms.
o Advise clients on potential tax-related risks and opportunities to optimize their tax positions.
* Tax Planning and Strategy:
o Develop and implement tax strategies to maximize tax efficiency and minimize potential tax liabilities for not-for-profit clients.
o Collaborate with clients to identify tax planning opportunities aligned with their long-term goals and objectives.
o Stay informed about changes in tax laws and regulations affecting exempt organizations and recommend proactive measures to address these changes.
* Client Relationship Management:
o Cultivate strong and positive relationships with clients, serving as their primary point of contact for all tax-related matters.
o Understand clients' unique missions, operations, and challenges to provide tailored tax solutions and guidance.
o Address client inquiries promptly and professionally, ensuring excellent client satisfaction and retention.
* Compliance Oversight:
o Oversee internal processes to ensure accurate and timely preparation of tax-related documents and reports.
o Implement quality control measures to maintain the highest level of accuracy and compliance in all tax-related activities.
o Keep abreast of best practices in the not-for-profit tax arena and recommend improvements to enhance overall compliance.
* Team Leadership and Support:
o Provide mentorship and guidance to tax professionals within the organization, fostering a collaborative and productive team environment.
o Allocate resources effectively to manage workload and meet client deadlines.
o Conduct training sessions to enhance team members' knowledge of not-for-profit tax regulations and procedures.
*Education and Experience*
· Bachelor's degree in accounting from a regionally accredited college or university.
· Six to eight years of relevant Public Accounting experience tax compliance, planning, and reporting for exempt organizations.
· Thorough understanding of tax laws and regulations applicable to not-for-profit organizations, including IRS Form 990 and related filings.
· Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail to ensure accurate and compliant tax reporting.
· Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients and internal teams.
· Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet strict deadlines.
· Previous experience in a managerial or supervisory role is a plus.

· Active state Certified Public Accountant license or equivalent recognized by the firm (e.
