Position Information Position Title Adjunct Outdoor & Community Recreation Instructor Requisition Number A00100P Job Summary/Basic Function Part-time adjunct instructor of outdoor and community recreation education.
To teach one or two upper division courses per semester as needed.
**This is a pooled position.
Applicants are selected from the pool as positions become available.
After a period of time the pool will expire and applicants will be notified.
Required Qualifications Possess at least a Master’s degree in Parks, Recreation, & Tourism, Recreation Management, Outdoor Education, Experiential Education, Leisure Behavior or closely allied field.
Applicant will have prior experience in higher education; teaching/facilitating course work especially in one or more of the following areas: Inclusive Recreation, Community Recreation Development, Recreation Facility Management, Recreation Programming, Tourism, Commercial Recreation, Outdoor Recreation Retail/Manufacturing, Outdoor Education.
Preferred Qualifications PhD in Parks, Recreation, & Tourism, Recreation Management, Experiential Education, Leisure Behavior or closely allied field.
- Evidence of teaching a variety of recreation academic and activity courses with emphasis on community or outdoor recreation at the university level.
- Experience with best practices in teaching, innovative pedagogical methods and assessment of student learning outcomes - Demonstrated computer literacy, teaching with technology and other technology related competencies for teaching.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
