*Daycare assistant *
We are looking for a teacher assistant who can help the teachers and supervisors to perform daily tasks.
Individual must be versatile, flexible in age assignment and other responsibilities while providing quality care for the children in our facility.
*Requirements for teacher assistants include* * Level 2 National background check * Drug Test * 40-clock-hour Introductory Child Care Training (preferred) * CPR & First Aid certification (preferred) * 2 Years of experience (preferred but not required) * Clean driving record (preferred but not required) *Fundamental Skills* * Dependable & Punctual * Comfortable working with children * Effective communication, both verbal and written * Flexible in age assignment * Must be able to excel in a continuously changing environment * Selecting and using training/instructional methods and procedures appropriate for the situation when learning or teaching new things.
* Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
* Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
* Identifying and preventing potential problems * Ability and patience when teaching others * Adjusting approach in different situations * Polite and friendly demeanor * Being aware of others' reactions and understanding why they react as they do.
* Actively looking for ways to help people.
* Persuading others to change their minds or behavior.
* Ability to learn/use childcare related apps & software *Tasks & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to* * Help the teacher to establish and enforce rules for behavior, and procedures for maintaining order in the classroom.
* Help the teacher to organize activities designed to promote physical, mental and social development, such as games, arts and crafts, music, and storytelling.
* Help the teacher to teach basic skills such as color, shape, number and letter recognition, personal hygiene, and social skills.
* Attend to children's basic needs by feeding them, dressing them, and changing their diapers.
* Provide a variety of materials and resources for children to explore, manipulate and use, both in learning activities and in imaginative play.
* Assimilate arriving children to the school environment by greeting them, helping them remove outerwear, and selecting activities of interest to them.
* Serve meals and snacks in accordance with nutritional guidelines.
* Identify children showing signs of emotional, developmental, or health-related problems, and discuss them with supervisors * Enforce all administration policies and rules governing students.
* Help the teacher to implement & follow curriculum * 3-5 days a week.
40 hours a week.
*Physical Aspect* * Must be able to lift 50 pounds * Must be able to stand up to 95% of the day * Able to communicate (stoop and bend) with the child on their level * Bend to perform various tasks numerous times throughout the day * Have the ability to move quickly for emergency situations * Perform all activities with children, i.
e.
jump, dance, walk, run, etc.
for extended periods of time * Attend staff meetings, in-house training, and other center functions, etc.
, as requested by the director * Observe and respond to children’s needs, emergencies, and conflicts that might occur in a classroom, on playground, in bathrooms, or common areas * Assist children with their personal hygiene and clean up of classroom *Maintaining a Clean Environment include, but are not limited to* *Daily Cleaning* * Vacuuming the classroom and surrounding hallways (as often as necessary) * Cleaning & sanitizing tables and chairs before/after each meal & after use * Cleaning & sanitizing toys * Cleaning & Sanitizing mats/cots after nap time * Cleaning & Sanitizing the classroom * Cleaning & Sanitizing high touch points * Maintaining toys & classroom materials organized when not in use * Cleaning windows (if applicable) * Taking out trash * Cleaning bathrooms *Weekly Cleaning* * Send personal belongings home to be washed * Clean and re-organize children's cubbies * Cleaning & sanitizing toys * Cleaning & Sanitizing high touch points * Cleaning & sanitizing tables and chairs * Cleaning & Sanitizing the classroom *Diaper Changing* * Maintain changing area organized * Sanitize changing table after each use * Dispose of dirty diapers in the designated area after each change *Restrooms* * Flush toilets and cleanup after scheduled class bathroom breaks * Wash the children's hands after using the bathroom and before meals *Playground* * Pick up any trash and dispose of it in the trash bin * Empty trash bin once a week *Kitchen* * Help to prepare and serve meals * Help to serve snack * Clean and sanitize the kitchen as needed * Sweep and mop the floor * Take out the garbage Job Types: Full-time, Part-time Pay: $12.
