#Cloud - $23.3B @19.7% YoY Growth for 2024 in Oz.... Maybe we are approaching Peak Cloud? Borrowing an idea from Wallace Chapman of The Panel on RNZ (thank you, I enjoy your show), I want to start sharing under the heading "I've been thinking". Today is related to my day jib, but (unsurprisingly) my thinking isn't easily contained to that role or part of life. With another two or three ideas gestating, best I get started. I have managed to find some time this weekend to preparing my session for Tuesday. As often happens, preparing for the talk is of value to the speaker. The process is clarifying my understanding, requiring me to stop and think on different topics, and generally distill out the "good oil" of what Catalyst Cloud offers Aotearoa New Zealand. I am looking forward to meeting new people and existing friends in Wellington on the 14th and Auckland on the 21st. If you haven't yet booked, there are still spaces available. Microsoft continues to evolve its cooling technology to meet the demands of AI with its liquid cooling heat exchanger unit. Advancing cooling efficiency in new and existing datacenters will enhance sustainability while supporting the growing needs of AI. Additionally, the innovation of using cross-laminated timber in datacenters is estimated to lower the carbon footprint of datacenters by 65% compared to typical precast concrete.
