We had an incredible session exploring various ways to capture telemetry within Power Apps, both in Canvas and Model-Driven Apps. Nicolò Ferranti delved into Low-Code methods as well as High-Code plugins in C#, demonstrating how to load assemblies into #dataverse to capture events and also a PCF (PowerApps Component Framework) control in ReactJs with monitoring embedded. Angelo Gulisano showcased Power Automate, highlighting its seamless integration with an Azure Function written in NodeJs for capturing telemetry data. All telemetry is available in #azure Application Insights, providing integrated analytics and insights into user flow and app monitoring! There has been a lot of hype around the Rust programming language. Most articles and blogs I read are heavy on promises, and a little light on testing. I’ve done a simple comparison between a lambda written in Python vs the same lambda written in Rust. Both use the official AWS SDKs. Boto3 is well established but the Rust SDK is new. The official release was about 8 months ago at reinvent. I’ve load tested both using K6. Why? Well, because I want to see for myself if I really do get the 8x improvement in performance and equivalent reduction in cost that people promote. What were the results? Next Migration Batch for on-prem file share into SharePoint online migration tasks are rolling! This migration has a couple of significant uploads into some SharePoint Document libraries and has required the deployment of a second SPMT agent in a different geographical location - Victoria - Which tomorrow has a public holiday for the AFL Grand Final - So we started the migration this afternoon at 5PM to increase our upload window! SPMT can scale, you can have more than one agent deployed - you can utilize more than one uplink at a time this way (just make sure your disk IO can also handle the pressure)! #MigrationWeekend #WeekendMigration #MigrationThursday #AFLGrandFinal #SPMT

This is why we started Gigged.AI... A $1b fintech that is in the middle of a large digital transformation. As they build capability they have tech skill gaps. They don't need a long term contractor and a large consultancy is not the right fit for them. So they use our tool to create two outcome based SOW's then get proposals from vetted talent. This is how more companies will work in the future. #techhiring #sow

It's the little things that add up. Like little bits (or bytes?) of data that in turn are used by the good people at Atlassian to make our user experiences better. https://lnkd.in/gMwAqwA7 In my imagination there's little robots holding counters and clicking everytime something happens in an Atlassian product. For instance, every time #Jira bulk actions are kicked off and the assignee field is selected a specially assigned robot pushes the clicker to record this action. I know that's not how it works but it's fun to imagine it, like Doozers on Fraggle rock. Anyway, I also imagine that this data however it's collected was used to make backlog editing so much faster. Check some boxes, double check how many you selected, hit edit, choose from the most commonly used actions, quickly select additional fields to update and viola. Oh, and you never have to leave the backlog! 🤩

I discover new method of file sharing, but it has become paid. It is by using the NZB files, NZB search index is paid, Meaning you have to pay a vendor for searching NZB files Also you have to buy service for using server to transfer the media. https://lnkd.in/dvWS3nbb But it is fast method and longer retention of content is assured. You can store and download content upto terabytes , depending on how much you can pay. It is not very costly. In early days these may have been free. Also , while torrents can be blocked by ISP, This method cannot be blocked , at it is probably smaller text files that are combined to form and complete binary file.

🤖Another AI Update From Google🤔 It was a nice reminder to get on ChatGPT and start testing their new model (best model in the world that’s free for everyone!) while Google spends the next couple of quarters playing catchup. Jokes aside, they did demo some cool looking stuff, my big personal gripe is their super limited integration into workspace, and demoing more products that don’t look to be released until the end of the year while we still wait for the last round of demos to finally go live. I even cancelled my Gemini sub for now, as it just wasn’t good enough to justify even testing their kit out for any longer. Their assistants have a ton of potential given their reach, they also have.. a few. Astra, Gemini, Chip, Voice, but only Gemini and maybe Chip are ready(ish) now. I’ll work to break down more details and try to figure out what’s actually ready to go now, and when we might start seeing some better business capabilities. #googleio #openai #chatgpt #ai

Excellent news out of parliament today that the digitalID spearheaded by Bill Shorten and Victor Dominello will be released as #opensource. This is a proactive step that will reduce how much data people have to provide to businesses, while providing a higher-quality and trusted identifier. The only losers in this scenario are hackers or people looking to profit off personal data. Digital trust is at a low-point in response to events which as the #Medisecure breach and Crowdstrike #bluescreen incident. Having government lead from the front by providing security researchers with the ability to verify and contribute to securing how people share their data is a huge step. By releasing this data to the public we can also build trust in how this is managed to improve citizen trust in government.

Enshittification was chosen as word of the year. I think we can all feel it! It's really interesting to understand why the quality of so many products has taken a dive recently. My guess is the lovely new digital entrants (Uber, Netflix, Airbnb, Doordash etc) have conquered their respective markets and there's little growth potential anymore. Thus they no longer need to be cheaper and better, and have instead started to skimp on cost to serve and hike prices. For the last 10 years it feels like there was just a cornucopia of lovely new services constantly popping up, making our lives better, and that trend's now reversed. The new Labour government has just announced its intention of shelving £1.3bn of funding promised for tech and AI projects. ⚠️ Thank you, Evening Standard, for letting me pen an article flagging this pressing issue. Given that the government has made economic growth its core mission and that the tech sector is essential to achieving it, cutting this funding is a huge step backwards and needs to be remedied. Here are my thoughts, in a nutshell, on how this can be done: ➡️ First, the government must recognise that the tech sector is central to ambitions for UK economic growth. ➡️ Then, it should focus on supporting public-private-university partnerships, including creating an incubator – a Y Combinator equivalent – to nurture UK companies and talent and attract global investors. The tech sector is one of the few areas where the UK remains a genuine global leader. Let's keep it this way!
