Transition to Windows 11 with Datacom. Datacom is ready to help Australian and New Zealand businesses upgrade to Windows 11 after signing an agreement with Microsoft to be a Strategic Refresh Initiative (SRI) partner for the local market. With Windows 10's end of support date of October 2025, all businesses should be planning to make the shift to Windows 11 ahead of that date to avoid any potential disruption and take advantage of greater integrations with the variety of Copilots available. The benefits of the new Operating System include advanced security features, better performance driven by specialised hardware such as Neural Processing Units (NPUs) that optimise AI tasks, improved collaboration, and enhanced productivity with Copilot+ PCs coming with built-in AI tools to streamline tasks and find information quickly. MICROSOFT POWER PLATFORM AND PROJECT NOTIFICATIONS || It was a pleasure to present to the Microsoft Canberra Power Platform & Dynamics 365 user group last week. Our PPM and Power Platform experts Paul Oppong and Christopher Kapnopulos used real-world examples and ran a live demonstration to show how advanced notifications management can be built on the platform, enhancing using experience and operational efficiency. 🚀 Arinco recently partnered with Blue Zebra Insurance (BZI), an Australian insurance agency, to implement Microsoft Sentinel and ensure maximised use of its capabilities. In 2024, BZI decided to enhance its security posture by deploying Microsoft Sentinel for a centralised dashboard to oversee incidents and centralise threat management activity. BZI engaged with Arinco, by Microsoft's recommendation, for its deep expertise and knowledge of the Microsoft stack. In a nine-week deployment, Arinco seamlessly integrated Sentinel into BZI’s operations which has now become its starting point for incident and response management. “Sentinel is a sophisticated product, with a lot of data connectors and different playbooks, depending on your needs and priorities, but the deployment was made far less daunting with Arinco’s guidance,” said BZI’s Chief Technology Officer, Amar Roomi. In partnership with Arinco, BZI has been able to adopt what Roomi calls “best-in-class security” without needing to build a large internal team to develop its cybersecurity solutions. Interesting discussions on the IRDel webinar this morning around DORA especially around ICT Providers. A shared few examples of ICT providers being ‘forced’ into contract renegotiations with financial entities to both: -Update verbiage to encapsulate some of the DORA obligations around ICT vendors -Laying out the contractual requirements on the evidence and due diligence requirements, reporting obligations and commitments to maintain and participate with the said financial services in meeting its DORA compliance obligations. It was a very clear in the message from the financial services, the above is mandatory or face contract terminations. Do financial services have the capacity and time to terminate these contracts now, run through RFP/due diligence processes’ etc by January 25?
