There’s a lot of people trying to work out how to make money out of V2G — that’s people who are NOT the owners. Perversely EV owners want a car that’s cheaper to operate/own than an ICEV and any “utility” that might deliver further savings through V2H or a bit of earnings from “passive ride share” V2G ; ) The rise and rise of big and bigger batteries is going to make aggregation a difficult space … all the more difficult if Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) continues to insist on their Command & Control ideologies BTM! It is an absolute pleasure to be part of PMB Defence, which Defence Connect has named "Export Business of the Year" for the second year in a row. From an industry perspective, I understand how challenging exporting can be. Navigating time zones, language barriers, and the complexities of establishing sustainable and maintainable capabilities within foreign nations' sovereign frameworks make defence exports one of the most intricate markets to operate. In the Australian context, I've observed that we often focus on complex commercial frameworks (ASDEFCON) with convoluted risk assessments to justify procurement value for money. This approach aims to satisfy government expectations of a system's deliverables but does little in terms of measuring sovereign capability. The ADF needs to focus on defining sovereign requirements derived from strategic analysis at the start of projects, ensuring the Australian Defence Force is equipped to defend our nation above the commercial mechanisms defined in the current set of commercial documents; this needs to include a greater focus on the role of Australian industry across the duration of the capability.

… a important article from 2022 … and two years on nothing has changed … in Australia the parties in control of the digital meters (also called [not so] Smart Meters) - the gentailers are try ones with the most to lose! This is compounded by the fact that the parties with the second most lost are their Metering Coordinator Cabal mates! Both these parties despite the best intents of the Australian Energy Market Commission (AEMC) in its Power of Choice Metering Reform to deliver consumer benefits are completely inverted it to unjustly enrich themselves all the while blocking consumers (or agents acting for them) access to their own data! Let’s hope the Reforms coming out of the Metering Review address that failure comprehensively. In a recent interview, Coleman noted the alarming impact Starlink is having on NBN, stating, "The NBN is getting smashed by Elon Musk, and it's creating embarrassing headlines for the NBN." Telecom regulation in New Zealand seems to be topsy-turvy at first read. The regulator, ComCom, is demanding that wholesale fiber provider Chorus NZ Limited reduce its capex and opex by 16%. Normally regulators are only too keen for operators to invest in infrastructure and staff in order to provide a better service to the public. But as Chorus is a wholesale operator, whose charges are presumably based on a regulatory ROI calculation, the government has decided that higher investment by Chorus will ultimately lead to price hikes for consumers without any benefit. The biggest retail operator, Spark New Zealand (which was once part of Telecoms New Zealand alongside Chorus) agrees with the regulator so I guess the decision makes sense.
