🎁How's that pile of corporate Christmas gifts looking? 🎁 Amidst all the chocolates, wine and generic food hampers piling up, we gave our clients at Tax Traders and Taxi a moment of surprise and delight with our bespoke Christmas gift this year. We love Christmas gifts (and of course appreciate wine and chocolate) but we love them most of all when they are considered, bespoke, thoughtful, sustainable and benefit not just our clients, but the community around them. Our bespoke accountants' version of Getting Lost was created specifically for our clients and invited them into a journey of adventure and joy with their loved ones. The packaging is compostable, it encourages people to get outside and experience adventure, and for every client gift, a family in need receives a food parcel from The Foodbank Project. I am proud of our considered approach to business, and we carry that same intention into how we celebrate and appreciate our incredible clients. Thank you to the super thoughtful and awesome Tara Daly who led our Christmas gifting for 2024 and the amazing team that had input here. Oh and did I mention the 468 individualised handwritten cards?? So special. Happy Christmas everyone!!

  • We’re proud partners of QES (Quality Education Services). Their inspiring mission focuses on empowering people of all ages through free education and employment training—breaking down barriers and creating pathways to success. From automotive and carpentry programs to life skills workshops and job placements, their work transforms lives across Aotearoa. We deeply admire their hands-on approach and unwavering commitment to our communities, especially their incredible impact on our rangatahi. It was a privilege to host the amazing QES team for an end-of-year celebration at the Tax Traders/Taxi office last week, reflecting on a year of meaningful mahi and enjoying a shared morning tea. Ka nui te mihi ki a koutou katoa — we thank you, QES (Quality Education Services) team for your hard work and dedication!

  • We were privileged to present our Tax Traders Cultivate Technology Scholarship to our two recipients for 2024; Tūtānekai Brown from Manurewa High School and Illiganoa Liki from Avondale College Auckland. This scholarship has been designed to create a pathway for school leavers with a passion for technology who may otherwise face barriers to entry to tertiary education.   To celebrate their incredible achievement, Tutanekai and Iliganoa joined us for a special ceremony in the Tax Traders and Taxi office, along with whānau and friends (pictured below). • The Tax Traders team spread some festive season cheer yesterday by volunteering at the Catalytic Foundation as part of their Christmas Shoebox Project. The Christmas Shoebox Project ensures thousands of lovingly wrapped boxes containing special gifts and essential items are sent to families in need who would otherwise miss out on the positive memories associated with receiving gifts at Christmas. We enjoyed our time filling and wrapping boxes, and many of our team got into the spirit of things by dressing for the occasion and donating items. Practise generosity is part of our DNA at Tax Traders and being able to help Catalytic Foundation with their mahi was such a rewarding, feel-good experience.

  • We’re proud to once again be recognising the top CFOs in New Zealand. Ahead of next week's Deloitte Top 200 Awards dinner, our co-founder Nicola Taylor spoke with the New Zealand Herald about how CFOs are having to be much more agile in their forecasting and risk management given the uncertain economic and geopolitical environment they are operating in. Congratulations to this year's finalists: Meridian Energy's Mike Roan, Fisher & Paykel Healthcare's Lyndal York, and NZME's David Mackrell
