Belated thanks to Kaushik P. Kumar from Dark Matter who recently hosted the NZ Tech Marketers (TMG) Christchurch crew. We talked about “the curse of knowledge “… something many grapple with. Being an expert in your field but struggling to articulate your message in plain, customer terms. And we talked video. One of the best pieces of content currently- gets more engagement than words alone. For those that don’t know.. TMG is a community group aimed at supporting the growth, development and connection for those who market tech companies. Love to see you at events or online next year 😀

  • Calling all Christchurch TMG Members!! Join us next Thursday to network with fellow tech marketers and learn about using video for better communication. We will be joined by Kaushik P. Kumar from Dark Matter who is an expert at helping organisations use video to make information engaging and overcome what he calls this the ‘curse of knowledge’: The more we know, the harder it can be to communicate well with less technical audiences. But, there are ways to overcome this challenge. Places are limited. Book your spot here: https://lnkd.in/gGeurcHS

What a great way to round up 2024! I spent yesterday morning listening to some of New Zealand's most talented marketers. NZ Tech Marketers put together an excellent event on what to expect in 2025 as marketers. "Thrive in 2025" covered many aspects of marketing and addressed the big question: What’s next? Michael Friedberg, CEO SwayTech kick-started the day with deep-dive into the mindset needed for marketing in his Mindset: Re-difining Marketing's Role session. Michael shared strategies that go beyond function, helping businesses harness marketing as a true growth engine. We would be living under a rock if we denied the impact AI has and will continue to have on Marketing. Justin Flitter, founder of New Zealand.AI, gave a compelling talk on how Marketers can reach their maximum potential with AI. Customers are always at the heart of everything we do, yet we sometimes lose track of how to nurture them. The session on the critical importance of Customer Experience in today’s Market with Kelly Letcher, CX Manager – Animal Management at Gallagher Animal Management offered a fresh perspective. The panel discussion on Marketing in 2025 with Caroline Francis, Nick Whitehead, Alla Lvovich and Sobia M. had more than a few takeaways for us Marketers to charge forward into 2025. Additionally, the Product Marketing panel discussion with Helen Shorthouse, David Parker from Auror, Julian Liew-Young from Fisher & Paykel Healthcare and Sharon Middleton from @Spark was essential as we approach the new year. Our Marketing Team at AoFrio Ltd gained valuable insights from the session and we'll be bookmarking them for our 2025 marketing strategy!

Awesome presentation at NZ Tech Marketers session yesterday from Kelly Letcher at Gallagher Animal Management about the critical importance of #customerexperience in todays market! She spoke about her journey and approach - from getting buy in from the business, aligning on goals and collecting insight from sales, customer service, product, marketing and more! She also shared how they aligned on CX vision - with a reference to an epic book 📕 “unreasonable hospitality” - by Will Guidara A must read if you’re struggling to get traction.. and people in your business are asking “but what is CX?” Well done Kelly Letcher, Nicola Harrop and the rest of the Gallagher team! #customerexperience #customerjourney

    Product Marketing @ Tracksuit

Product marketer hack: the launch checklist ✅ I recently posted about a handy tiering framework we’ve been using at Tracksuit to shape the scale of our product launches. Well, once you’ve decided your launch tier – what next? A launch checklist is a helpful tool to reduce the load of planning (especially when you’re a small team). It’s easy to see how your resource allocation and GTM plan differs by launch tier: 1️⃣ – A big bang product launch that requires extensive planning to rollout across all available channels 2️⃣ – A compelling new product or feature that needs to be communicated via primary channels, but doesn’t require huge investment 3️⃣ – A more minor feature update that may just need a simple notification for existing users One big caveat: a launch checklist should never be prescriptive, nor is it a launch strategy. Each new product or feature is different and requires a customised GTM approach. 👉 Feel free to use the below checklist as a starting point and customise for your own channels. At Tracksuit we found it helpful to amend our checklist after running a few launches based off what worked and what didn’t.
