"Continued immersion, amazing facilitators, and the many nuggets of truth shared by everyone" "Being true, authentic and honest with yourself, opening up, taking the opportunity" "Inclusiveness, Kai and Laughter" We asked our alumni from Kōkihi - our Māori leadership programme with Heb Construction 3 things they enjoyed or took away from their wānanga 1 and we want to thank all of our participants for being open and trusting us through their journey.

About us
Indigenous Growth Limited (IGL) was founded by Michael Moka in 2013. Previously he was involved in the Executive Education Team at the University of Auckland, Business School. Michael identified a big gap in the market where there wasn’t an organisation prepared to target Indigenous front line workers to succeed as Indigenous people. IGL was created to provide Indigenous people with practical tools to allow them to thrive in whatever area they choose to succeed in while acknowledging and enhancing their Indigenous way of being. Few if any Managers would dispute the fact that “all business comes down to people business.” In the next 20+ years Indigenous people are going to be the majority of the workforce at the grass roots level. This is where IGL is needed. We strive to be the experts in serving and empowering Indigenous people with the mind set to empower themselves to succeed. It is a self-evident fact that better trained and educated workers with the correct attitudes will, when properly managed, add to a company’s or organisations bottom line. We are an Indigenous focused organisation and we adapt our programmes for Indigenous people. We are proud to take into account the physical, mental, spiritual and whanau needs of our people. Our Purpose - To serve and empower Indigenous people to achieve what is important in a consistent manner for them, their whanau, hapu, iwi, nation and globe. - To be an Indigenous focused vehicle to serve Indigenous people and organisations to grow in their chosen field and thrive by enhancing their values. Why we do it - Improve the lives of people that are ‘hungry’ to be better. - Make Aotearoa a better place by ensuring all people can take their chance. - Giving people that we believe in the chance to succeed. - Creating a welcoming environment that is relatable to their cultural needs.

"𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗱𝗼𝗻'𝘁 𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗼𝗰𝗰𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻; 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗳𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗵𝗮𝗯𝗶𝘁𝘀" Learning how to sniper in on goals instead of just aimlessly hoping something will land" This is a takeaway from our wānanga 4 for our alumni at Kuaka - our Māori and Pasifika leadership programme with Sky New Zealand Sniper those goals and again, you dont rise to the occasion, you fall to your habits.

“ Sniper!!!!!!!!!! Go after what you want and be focused on execution" Everyone has goals but some people aim to achieve them differently. Sniper is specifying your goal and setting out tasks to achieve that goal instead of machine gunning and 𝙝𝙤𝙥𝙞𝙣𝙜 that it will stick. This was a takeaway from one of our Alumni at Kāwai - our One New Zealand Māori and Pasifika leadership programme. Sniper those goals!

"Gave me more insight on how others and I think and how to tackle certain situations. We tend to take things the wrong way inside and hold onto it until it eats us alive. This session made me realise it's dangerous to do things like that" These are some takeaways from our wānanga 2 for one of our alumni from Ruia Te Kākano - our Māori and Pasifika leadership programme with Foodstuffs North Island Limited
-
“We walked in as strangers, we’re walking out as family” The safe space our participants create for each other in the wānanga space is always something to admire. Rawness, authenticity and honesty are qualities they allow each other when sharing experiences and opinions which can play a huge role in the relationships they create with each other. Here is a snippet of the takeaways from our alumni at Rūia te Kākano - our Māori and Pasifika leadership programme with @Foodstuffsnorthisland

We asked our Kuaka participants what advice they would give to anyone about to start their journey, this is what one of our alumni had to say - "Strong heart, brave mind and be confident in all that you have learnt to bring you here to graduation and a reminder to keep pushing and stretching the knowledge you have gained" Kuaka is our Māori and Pasifika leadership programme with Sky New Zealand

It was a good self-reflection on actions I was doing previously but grounded the reasons to why I did them to values that were close to home. Self reflection is super important. Is there anything you need to reflect on? This is an amazing takeaway from our Kōkihi Alumni - our Māori leadership programme with Heb Construction

“There is nothing better than to be trained by Māori for Māori” Here is a snippet of the our Māhuri (our Māori leadership programme with Beca) pōtaetanga. Our alumni Cherie shares what she enjoyed about the programme.

"You can't put it into words, you have to do the course to understand it" We are always so grateful to hear such amazing experiences from our alumni and we thank them for the kind words and their trust in us. This is a snippet of the takeaways from Whakatupu rōpū 16 - our Māori and Pasifika leadership programme with @Fletcherbuildings.
