To launch Do Something HELPful in May and Rape Awareness Week 2024, please join us and Dear Em on Monday 6 May at 6pm for a screening of The Lie. This powerful new documentary delves into the tragic murder of Grace Millane. After the screening, there will be a discussion on the cultural landscape around "rough sex" by our panel of thought leaders Nicola Gavey and Paulette Benton-Greig, along with youth activists Layba Zubair and Imogen Stone from our Dear Em team. Our Executive Director & everyone at HELP Auckland would like to say a big THANK YOU to everyone who donated to last week's Giving Day to HELP SURVIVORS HEAL! Thanks to all of you wonderful people, we raised a total of $16,828 on the day, which has been matched 💲 for 💲 by our incredible supporters at Gilmours Wholesale Food & Beverage in Mt Roskill. That brings our total amount raised to $33,656 - which is a pretty impressive feat for 1 day! This money will directly go towards supporting more than 2️⃣0️⃣ victims/survivors on their journey to healing; providing them with over 2️⃣2️⃣4️⃣ hours of crucial trauma therapy in 2024. Our HELP fundraising staff & volunteers were grateful for the opportunity to speak to just some of our supporters over the phone last Thursday, and learn more about the impact HELP's work can have... To literally help to SAVE LIVES through crisis, justice and therapeutic intervention.
