Post Cyclone Gabriel surveying remains a significant part of our workload. We've completed our largest survey to date, using LiDAR, photogrammetry, and terrestrial surveying techniques to capture over 8km of streams and 400Ha of surrounding flood plain land. Our UAV fleet, including the DJI M300 with P1 and L2 LiDAR, Mavic 3 Enterprise RTK, and Trinity F90+ fixed-wing survey plane, played a crucial role in this achievement. All collected data was vectorized, providing survey data in a traditional form ready for engineers to use in various applications, such as designing stop banks and flood scenario modeling. Additionally, we squeezed in some aerial photography jobs, capturing stunning footage of Hawkes Bay's best locations. Notably, we had an early morning mission to record a large industrial plant lift and placement by crane, flying under the CAA's shielding provisions until daybreak. It shoots laser pulses at a staggering rate of 240,000 per second, capturing a whopping 1.2 million points per second! And don't worry about drowning in data. We've got the post-processing covered to make it easy for you. But here's where it gets really exciting: thanks to its ability to record up to five returns per pulse, our LiDAR can penetrate through dense foliage and tree canopies with ease. Even if a pulse gets interrupted by leaves or branches, as long as it hits the ground and bounces back, we've got those ground points locked in. Plus, weather is no match for our LiDAR! Whether it's glare, shadows, or even night-time, this bad boy delivers. And with an impressive +/-30mm accuracy at a 100-meter flight altitude, you can trust it to get the job done right every time. We have been flat out like a lizard drinking since the Christmas break, but we always have time to give you a brief look at some of the projects we have been working on over the summer in Hawke's Bay. We have been busy carrying out UAV surveys to provide detailed 3D Scans of various streams and bridges in Havelock North for Hawke's Bay Regional Council. The Data collected will be used as a part of a flood and erosion analysis and for future engineering design, erosion monitoring and hydraulic modelling . This Video is onboard the DJI M300 equipped with our L2 (LiDAR) payload. Ps. ignore the "IMU not calibrated" message as the payload auto calibrates during the flight mission.

Using our advanced UAV capture methods we can produce high density, high resolution colourised point clouds and 3D meshes for engineers and architects to use for design, analysis, visual rendering, clash detection and inspection purposes. Saving time and eliminating the risks of staff working in hazardous environments with specialist safety equipment whilst carrying out inspections.

Pekapeka wetlands, Hawkes Bay. A restoration project since the 1990’s (led by Hawke's Bay Regional Council and with community support) aimed to improve the wetland’s capacity to regulate flood waters and increase the natural biodiversity. It is one of the few remaining large wetlands of its type in Hawke’s Bay and was ranked by the Department of Conservation (DOC) as the second most valuable wetland, ecologically, in Hawke’s Bay.

The last three months at Drone IT incapsulated in less than a minute. Some of the Projects featured in this video are Dam mapping in Otane, New subdivision as-built in CHB, Eketahuna & Pahiataua wastewater treatment plant surveys, Post cyclone survey of Ngaruroro River, Wetland Mapping Survey, Vacant land mapping survey in Napier, Quarry survey in Hastings and Multispectral imaging for Aerobotics in Hawke's Bay & Bay of plenty.
