I'd like to add my voice to the chorus of praise for the 2024 Tech Summit. I thought last year was pretty good, but somehow this year was even better! The Summit not only provided a world-class technology conference on Kiwi soil— but also adds significant weight to the profile of the tech ecosystem here in Canterbury. I cannot overstate my gratitude to Louisa Taylor and the organising team at Canterbury Tech who do an incredible job of putting this pinnacle event together for us all to enjoy. Special thanks also goes to Casey Orr and the folks at Amazon Web Services (AWS), for inviting us to share their stand. It might have been a bit minimal in design, but it didn’t detract from the quality of the conversations we had with conference delegates! It was particularly exciting getting to showcase Caitlyn to James Bergin from Xero, Grant Patterson from Elastic and Berys Amor at Ngāi Tahu and get their feedback and insights. Also a bit of fangirling with Melissa Clark-Reynolds, who I've admired from afar for many years! Big ups for our CTO Sam Sehnert, he smashed his talk on CI/CD pipelines and was introduced by Vaughan Luckman as ‘one of the most knowledgeable people’ he knows!! You make us super proud Sam! We have exciting news! Over the past few months we’ve put huge focus into building our GenAI platform Caitlyn. We’ve created a proof of concept, onboarded and deployed our first customer instance. We have new customers signed and in progress, as well as an exciting pipeline. During September and October we toured the country with the #NZAI Roadshow and were overwhelmed with the positive response from conference delegates. Last week, we received official notification that we have been approved for a $500k ‘New to R&D’ grant from Callaghan Innovation! Not only does this give us the much needed funding to continue to explore and test opportunities within the #GenAI space, but also further validation for the work we’re doing!! Custom D Ltd, New Zealand is delighted to have been among the first in New Zealand to the AWS Public Sector Partner Transformation Program (#PTP) through CUSP SERVICES. Thanks to our Ingram Micro Development Manager, Sandeep Singh, and Amazon Web Services (AWS) Partner Manager, Mirash Mahuthoom, for nominating us to this program. Special thanks to Haja Sheriff and Murali Sankar Hariharan from CUSP SERVICES for leading this workshop and engagement with us as we build additional impact stream on this segment of the technology markets in the region Building on the momentum and huge interest generated through the #NZAI Road roadshow (thanks to the hard work of Justin Flitter pulling that together) – we are stoked with our plans around #Caitlyn, our #GenAI based platform for large enterprises (Governments, Education, Healthcare, Banking, Financial Services etc) and helping us grow our GenAI product platform. Over the last 2 days, we have been able to pull together a plan, a set of goals and objectives that will be our north star as we build the plans and develop new initiatives with Caitlyn.  We see great opportunity to expand our footprint beyond New Zealand and Australia into the broader Asia Pacific Regional countries, building partnerships with our vendors, peer group companies as well as with Solution Integrators and Consultants.   Look out for some big announcements on Caitlyn and our plans for facilitating faster time to market, increasing operational efficiencies and improving profitability for our customers and Partners in the region.
