And that's a wrap for 2024! Last night we held our AGM and quiz night - a huge thanks to everyone who came to close out what has been a fantastic year. Our acting (and now current Chair) Michelle Shirtcliffe reported on the year alongside outgoing General Manager, Louisa Taylor. They announced and welcomed our new board members Liz Foxwell-Canning, MInstD and Matthew Biddick. Liz is a fresh face for the board, describing herself as "an entrepreneurial, results-driven and commercially-focused people leader", while Matthew has been the acting treasurer and now joins as an elected member. Michelle, Kahn Mitchell and Matthew will be continuing in the positions of Chair, Deputy chair and treasurer for the coming year. Find out more about the 2025 board at https://lnkd.in/gngWpXaw We also celebrated our outgoing board members Lisa Donning, Rachael Tobeck, Séku Skandan ⚡️, Patrick Keo and Matthew Steans. The night also served as the final official engagement for our General Manager, Louisa Taylor, who will be exploring new projects in the upcoming year. https://lnkd.in/gvipgMvm The most important people of the evening though were certainly our Quiz Champions - including Shelley Sutcliffe, Andrew Ecker, Leroy Hopson, Thi Doan, Daniel Gilmour - 5 years in a row!! (they are accepting applications for a sport expert for next year ⚽ )

About us
Welcome to Aotearoa's most active tech community. We're an independent tech organisation that brings together businesses, tertiary and government to elevate opportunities for our 400+ members and community. The idea for Canterbury Tech was born in 2003 when a group of like-minded CEO’s, business owner’s and tech entrepreneurs connected informally to talk about ways they could help each other and support the technology and innovation sector in Canterbury. Since then, we have been the voice and connector of local technology companies and have seen the sector grow to become the second largest tech centre in New Zealand. It has pivoted from its traditional strengths of agriculture and tourism to a sustainable, economic future based on local, world-class technology companies.
