“Making it Easier to Build Granny Flats” - Summary of submissions Between June and August 2024, the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) and the Ministry for the Environment (MfE) undertook public consultation on a proposal which would allow property owners to build granny flats without consents. MBIE have now released the summary of this consultation, taking into account the feedback from nearly 2,000 submissions: BOINZ was commended on their submission and it was good to see that many of the concerns and recommendations raised in our August Submission on Granny Flats were featured in the summary document. We thank everyone who contributed feedback to this submission. It is through the collaborative work of our members that we are able to drive quality outcomes for the building sector in New Zealand. https://lnkd.in/g2QWXxqf
