For one of our first tests in Unreal Engine, we built this highly detailed recreation of Naples, Italy - set 2,000 years ago. The eagle-eyed viewer will notice that we expertly crafted the top of Vesuvius. Starting with a DEM height map of Naples, we built up the environment with a custom ocean setup, period stone buildings and boats, which were rendered together fully path traced through the sky scatter volume.
