Real estate titans toast Daniel Boulud’s steakhouse La Tete d’Or: ‘Cathedral to carnivorism’
So many real estate heavyweights turned up at the opening party for Daniel Boulud’s steakhouse La Tete d’Or at One Madison on Thursday, one guest called it “a Fried Frank preview,” referring to the law firm’s annual holiday bash next month.
The likes of Aby Rosen (looking cheerfully untroubled by his Chrysler Building travails), Joseph Moinian, Philip Milstein, Ian Schrager and CBRE’s Bob “Mr. Big” Alexander mingled with food world luminaries Jean-Georges Vongerichten, Jonathan Cheban and Tim and Nina Zagat.
Guests feasted on abundant Wagyu beef and salmon caviar blinis. Marc Holliday, CEO of One Madison developer SL Green, termed the huge, Rockwell-designed eatery “a cathedral to carnivorism.”
He said of his company’s many restaurant investments, “We spend 99% of our time at SL Green grinding away on real estate deals, but 100% of our joy comes from projects like this.”
