Fashion-obsessed Giorgio Armani fans can now not only live above his Madison Avenue boutique, but they can also be his neighbor at The Giorgio Armani Residences — for a price.
Armani is buying one of the 10 units in that new 12-story, 195-foot-tall limestone building perched atop the store, Gimme Shelter has learned.
The boutique has been at 760 Madison and 65th Street since 1996. A duplex penthouse in the building is asking $32.5 million, while a fifth-floor unit has hit the market for an even $25 million.Â
While sales just launched at the building, five of the 10 residences are already in contract, a spokesperson said.
The penthouse is 4,216 square feet and comes with four bedrooms and 4½ baths. A private elevator landing opens to the space, with a formal gallery overlooking a landscaped terrace. Details include a corner living room with floor-to-ceiling windows, and French doors clad in custom metal work that lead to an outdoor terrace with city skyline and Central Park views.
Design details include a sculptural staircase, as well as an elevator that leads to the main bedroom and two additional bedrooms. The main corner bedroom suite has walk-in closets and a spa bath.
The fifth-floor unit is even larger, at 4,869 square feet, and comes with a private terrace, four bedrooms, 4½ baths and an open layout. Interiors boast white oak floors, 10-foot-high ceilings, oversize windows and modern bronze-, marble- and neutral earth-toned finishes and interiors. The home opens to a private elevator landing that leads to an entry gallery with limestone floors.
Next up is a corner living room that opens to a 460-square-foot terrace. There’s also a media room and another landscaped private terrace along with a formal dining room and a main corner bedroom suite with a dressing room and a windowed spa bath.
Designed by New York-based architecture firm COOKFOX, the building was developed by SL Green, with Victoria Hagan as creative director, and its limestone facade was approved by the Landmarks Preservation Commission. Residences are slated for a summer 2024 completion, with sales and marketing led by Douglas Elliman brokers Sabrina Saltiel and Madeline Hult Elghanayan.
Full-floor, four- to five-bedroom residences start at $21.5 million. Building amenities include a doorman, a gym, a private treatment room, and a library and lounge with Armani Casa furniture.
There’s also a Zen tearoom with service from Armani Ristorante and a common terrace.
In 2019, Armani also paid $17.5 million for a penthouse at 91 Central Park West from John Legere, then CEO of T-Mobile. It had formerly been owned by publishing mogul William Randolph Hearst.
