This Week at Shortcut: Apple Event in Stockholm 🍎 On Tuesday, we joined our Nordic colleagues in Sweden to attend a 3-day event organised by Apple. The agenda covered some of the most exciting innovations shaping the future of app development today: • App Intents: A way to extend your app’s reach within the phone’s ecosystem. Think smart Siri, Widgets, Shortcuts, and other iOS capabilities integrated, making your apps even more seamless and user-friendly. • VisionOS: Exploring the potential of the Vision Pro headset with use cases that push the boundaries of immersive tech. • Apple Intelligence: Adding Apple’s generative models directly into the core of your phone, enabling powerful, everyday interactions. It’s been inspiring to see how these tools can reshape app experiences, making them more intelligent and user-focused. The team brought different perspectives: Ivan Lé Hjelmeland was drawn to the real-life use cases and their practical applications. Joakim Korsnes was curious about what Vision Pro could mean for immersive experiences, while Kasper Josefsen enjoyed connecting with others in the room—Apple affiliated or not—and discussing all things the future of tech. Not everyone could be fully present, like Frederik Sørensen, who balanced diving into the technical side of things with keeping his projects back in Denmark on track. Sabina S. focused on translating these highly technical concepts into user-driven solutions, asking how they could genuinely improve daily lives by putting user needs first. We’re looking forward to bringing these ideas back to Shortcut and seeing how we can put them into action!
