The importance of a sustainable circular battery value chain is a key topic in Europe. BCS is developing a novel CO2 consuming technology for carbon production to meet this huge challenge.

We have been accepted as a member of the ECGA (European Advanced Carbon and Graphite Materials Association) 🎊 🎉 As a new member of the European Carbon and Graphite Association (ECGA), we’re excited to join Europe’s leading voices in carbon and graphite production. Founded in 1995 and based in Brussels, ECGA represents the full spectrum of EU-based production, including natural graphite, graphite electrodes, and battery anode materials—critical components for the steel and foundry industries, aluminum and ferroalloy sectors, as well as the growing European battery market. We look forward to collaborating with the industry!

Today BCS provides an operational update and financial results for the third quarter of 2024. “As we head into the final quarter of 2024, I am confident that Bergen Carbon Solutions is on the right path. We are making strong progress in our technological development, expanding our partnerships, and positioning ourselves as a local and sustainable CCU player in the European battery value chain. Our focus remains on improving our processes, managing costs, and securing more strategic agreements that will help us grow and succeed in the long term,” says Odd Strømsnes. Excited to present Bergen Carbon Solutions AS today at the Korea-Norway CCUS Day in our hometown, Bergen! A big thank you to Korea CCUS Association, Innovasjon Norge and Invest in Norway for the invitation and the opportunity to share our work.

Great news, BCS has extended the MOU with TKG Huchems. For the second time, BCS has extended the MOU with one more year with the South Korean company TKG Huchems. The intent of the MOU is to develop Carbon Nano Tubes (CNT) utilizing technology from Bergen Carbon Solutions, targeting battery cell manufacturers in the Asian region. Our CEO, Odd Strømsnes, comments: "This second extension of our partnership demonstrates the long-term commitment and confidence that we have developed with our partner in South-Korea. Our relationship moves forward as our technological maturity is increasing." 

Beyonder and Bergen Carbon Solutions sign LOI to enhance the technical capabilities of Beyonder batteries and secure local supply of critical carbons. "Local and sustainable battery production will be key as EU’s Critical Raw Materials Act (CRMA) will enhance the strategic importance for the battery producers to team up with new sustainable technology providers in the raw material space like BCS. Together with Beyonder, we will work to reduce their supply chain risk and their corresponding CO2 footprint in the years to come" says Odd Strømsnes, CEO of BCS.
