Aker presented its third quarter results this morning. In short: delivering shareholder value through high activity across the portfolio, continued progress on a more focused investment strategy, significant upstream cash, and a stated ambition to see 10% annual growth in Net Asset Value over time. An additional ordinary cash dividend of NOK 35.50 was announced, putting the total dividend for 2024 at 51 kroner per share. Read more about the plans and progress for Aker's long-term value creation, as well as our revised dividend policy in Øyvind Eriksen's letter to shareholders!
Aker ASA presented its results for the third quarter this morning. Unsurprisingly, a bit overshadowed by the news of the 2024 presidential election, but nonetheless with several important updates. We ended the third quarter with a more streamlined and cash-generative investment portfolio, enabling us to pay an additional NOK 35.50 per share in ordinary cash dividend for 2024, for a total of 51 kroner per share in dividend from Aker for the year. Furthermore, for the first time, our board is adjusting the dividend policy upward to 4-6% of NAV annually. Despite a decrease in our Net Asset Value this quarter, primarily due to lower oil prices, these actions reflect how we are playing to our strengths, including active ownership and transactional capabilities, to drive value creation. Despite the potential impact on global markets and trade dynamics following Trump’s victory, many aspects relevant to Aker are expected to remain unchanged. We anticipate a continued fragmented world, geopolitical uncertainty and conflicts, and significant incentives for the US to maintain its technology-leadership and energy self-sufficiency. At Aker, we are used to managing volatilities and remain committed to maintaining a steady course, continuing to deliver value to our shareholders. You can read more about our strategic priorities and the developments in the third quarter in my letter to shareholders.

Thank you ONS for having me at what has been a busy first conference day alongside industry colleagues, elected officials, thought leaders, and many more in Stavanger. I started the morning with DNB on a panel to discuss issues around financing the energy transition and wrapped the afternoon on the ONS main stage to discuss ‘The Spark of New Industries.’ Thank you especially to Amrita Sen for leading an interesting dialogue with Kjerstin Braathen, Birgitte Ringstad Vartdal and Ingrid Reumert about new technologies, the need for stable regulatory frameworks, attracting capital, ensuring profitability, and managing risks. At Aker ASA we welcome continued collaboration and dialogue with new and existing partners, authorities and other stakeholders on our path towards balancing reliable, affordable, and more sustainable energy production. #ONS2024

The first half of 2024 was a dynamic period with high activity across the portfolio as Aker continued to execute on its strategy, streamline the portfolio and deliver value to shareholders. During the first half of 2024, Aker paid a dividend of NOK 15.50 per share based on the 2023 annual accounts. This represented a total dividend distribution of NOK 1.15 billion to Aker’s shareholders. Watch the video below for a quick summary of the second quarter and half-year results. More details and a webcast of today's presentation is available on our website www.akerasa.com. Aker BP ASA, Aker Solutions, Cognite, SLB and Aker Carbon Capture Joint Venture, Philly Shipyard, Inc.
Today, we closed the second quarter and first-half of 2024. Halfway through the year, I am pleased to report that despite the geopolitical uncertainties, Aker has navigated with resilience and strategic focus. The first half of the year was marked by high activity across the Aker portfolio: Aker BP ASA delivered solid production in the first half and increased its production guidance, Cognite continued to accelerate its positive commercial development with annual recurring revenue (ARR) and monthly active users reaching record-highs, and Aker Solutions posted improved financial results for the period. We announced several important transactions and strategic partnerships during the period, demonstrating our more focused approach in creating shareholder value, as previously announced. Some of the main developments in the period included the completion of the refinancing of Solstad and establishment of Solstad Maritime, crystallizing value through the formation of a global carbon capture player in a JV between Aker Carbon Capture and SLB and realizing value through the agreement to sell Philly Shipyard to Hanwha, with expected closing in the fourth quarter. In conclusion, I am pleased with the progress Aker has made in the first half of 2024. We continue to make strides in our ambition of a more focused and concentrated Aker through strong partnerships and continued innovation. We are in a strong position with a robust portfolio ready to adapt to new opportunities and a solid industrial foundation for long-term growth.
