  • E2E supply chain orchestration: From control tower to command center Despite the turbulence in supply chains, the adoption of end-to-end supply chain visibility lags behind expectations. • Many companies struggle to adapt to the rapidly changing world, especially in these times of economic uncertainty and multiple geopolitical tensions. Agility and resilience are therefore essential – but not all business roles contribute to this, plus there is sometimes insufficient alignment between the various departments. The analogy of the human body provides an enlightening insight into what constitutes a healthy company. A healthy body is able to move forward. For that, you need two strong legs: Commerce and Supply Chain. In the past, Supply Chain was quite often seen as a support function for the business. But healthy, progressive companies rightly see Supply Chain as the counterpart of Commerce. When one leg is weaker, you walk with a limp. That is why Supply Chain is an equally strong leg in the corporate body, represented in the board. Download "A company as a human body": https://lnkd.in/ehEt-tnp

  • Automating processes leads to better transport performance In these turbulent times, companies need more control over their transport flows. But how do you achieve that when transport is decentralized and outsourced? During Webinar Wednesday, Elmer Spruijt of Descartes explained that a Transport Management System (TMS) not only results in better performance and lower costs, but also offers plenty of opportunities for automating those processes that are often still done manually. • Growing efforts to integrate supply chain planning with financial planning The shift from Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) to Integrated Business Planning (IBP) has been difficult. During S&OP Flavour Day, keynote speaker Bram Desmet outlined how the supply chain and finance departments continue to work in silos. He advocated integrating the planning processes of both departments. Dairy company FrieslandCampina and Heineken have already made a start on this. FrieslandCampina’s Berend Meijerink: ‘We now no longer have discussions about the numbers.’ Read the full article on the website of Supply Chain Movement: https://lnkd.in/eYpHtNhw
