Data quality and simplicity can be essential Emile Naus, partner at supply chain consultancy BearingPoint, highlights the focus on data quality for AI/ML. Keep things simple where possible. Complexity makes correct decision-making difficult and damages outcomes – and then there is bias and intellectual property to consider. “Internal data isn’t perfect, but at least you’ll have a view of how good it is,” adds Naus.

A blazingly simple guide to build a better network. Personally, I am a reserved person and can’t easily initiate conversations. Yet, I have built a strong network of 1000s, got 4 jobs in as many countries, and grew personally and professionally. Here is how I built my network, and you can, too. 1. Attend conferences, seminars, and meetups.  2. Join Professional Associations: Tech groups, Computer societies, Chamber of Commerce etc, 3. Leverage Social Media: LinkedIn and X can be great sources 4. Follow Up: Always follow up with new contacts after meeting them. 5. Be Genuine: Show genuine interest in others and their work. 6. Offer Help: Be willing to help others without expecting anything in return. 7. Practice Active Listening: Listen more than you speak and show empathy. 8. Prepare an Elevator Pitch: Have a concise and compelling introduction ready.  9. Volunteer: Offer your time and skills to causes you care about. 10. Be Consistent: Regularly engage with your network, not just when you need something. 11. Ask Open-Ended Questions: Encourage meaningful conversations by asking open-ended questions. 12. Share Knowledge: Share valuable information and insights with your network. Don’t assume that everyone knows what you know. 13. Follow Industry News: Stay updated with the latest trends and news in your industry. 14. Seek Mentorship: Find mentors and also offer to mentor others. Don’t worry about rejections.
