Wednesday #IBMAIX tip for all NIM administrators and automation developers. Want to see which NIM command smitty would execute without really executing it? Of course everyone knows about F6 in smit - Show command. It is easy! There is another easter egg. Export SMIT_NO_EXEC=0042 before calling smit, execute smit, choose all options for your NIM command you wish and press Enter. It will show command to you without executing it. Another one to look into, from Win 11 migration perspective. Use case scenario - Physical devices can be upgraded to Win11 faster and any business unit still dependant on Win 10 can source W365 cloud pcs in the interim, with included ESU license and are covered from security perspective.
