It's a new Financial Year (FY), and things are buzzing at Let's driEV! 🙂 I'd love to take this opportunity to share with you some exciting things happening at Let's DriEV. Starting from reviewing the previous year: 👇 > We faced challenges securing funds last year, but not anymore; we tackled them head-on and partnered with SIDBI, MBSI and ECOFY. Secured a credit line from SIDBI for smoother vehicle procurement. This means good news for our clients - no more waiting lists! 🙌 > Speaking of good news, we've been racking up awards, too!  From being recognised as the top 10 startups in Odisha to participating in STPI's Leap Ahead program, our commitment to sustainable mobility is getting noticed.  👀 > We're also building a fantastic team to fuel our expansion plans outside Bhubaneswar.  > Last year, we set up a target of 1500 Vehicles, and we accomplished that. But we're not resting; it's time to shift gears and accelerate! 📈 This FY, we're doubling down on a few key things: >Raising Funds: Talks with VCs are underway, and we're confident we'll secure additional investment at a significant valuation. When we started the FMO - Dutch entrepreneurial development bank's first VC mandate, called FMO Ventures Program, in 2020, we did so because we believed in the large impact potential of technology and technology-enabled start-ups and scale-ups in emerging markets. As 4 years have passed now, we wanted to pause, take stock and provide meaningful insights in the impact that we achieved together with our portfolio and ecosystem partners. And as we have just launched FMO Ventures Program 2, we were also keen to identify, implement and share some lessons learned. It's official!! 👀 I am joining Antler's residency as part of their 3rd Amsterdam based cohort! 😁 And it's really exciting as Antler is one of the biggest early-stage investors out there, backing exciting new projects that are in pre-seed and even pre-team stages! Being completely solo and bootstrapped means that this residency is particularly interesting to me as they will open their entire network of builders, founders, VCs and partner organizations to help kickstart my journey. Starting today and for the coming 14 weeks I will be working full-time with them and focussing on the following: 𝟭. 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗰𝗼-𝗳𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿! Working solo is fun but there's only so much you can do alone. Having a co-founder will help me split tasks that I know I'm less good at. Which is why I'm now officially looking for a partner in Sales and/or Marketing to come join me! The main goal of the residency is networking and I'm confident I'll be meeting amazing people the coming weeks but if you're reading this and are passionate about Web3, are in Sales or Marketing and want to build a new venture from the ground up please send me a message too!!! 𝟮. In June of last year we launched our product ProtectMyOrder This was a pivot from our previous product: Mule We raised over £1m in VC/Angel funding for Mule. In the end, it just wasn’t profitable and we had to go back to the drawing board After shutting down Mule, we dug into once of the biggest problems in ecommerce: Deliveries going wrong It turns out 1 in 3 shoppers are worried about their ecommerce delivery going wrong. Shoppers told us they would happily pay a small fee to get peace of mind that if something did go wrong with their delivery they would get cover We built an MVP. The MVP enabled ecommerce merchants to upsell delivery protection at checkout Our first customer (an online perfume seller) found that over 60% of their shoppers purchased delivery protection They were making £1000s per month in net profit through the upsell Since delivery issues are generally rare, most shoppers who purchased delivery protection didn’t need to redeem the service Since June of last year, our revenue has grown at 8% per week Merchants are generating £m’s in net profit through the upsell each year “I wish I had known about your app sooner” is something we hear often from new merchants However, this wouldn’t have been possible without the 100+ partners and advocates of our product in the Ecom community We met so many amazing new people in the last 12 months Though too many to list, we thank each and every one of you for your support

Future Tech Ventures launches with €20M fund for startups in Northern Netherlands Future Tech Ventures (FTV), a new venture capital firm focusing on startups in the Northern Netherlands, officially launched yesterday in Groningen. FTV debuted with a €20mn fund that will support at least 50 high-tech startups in the proof-of-concept phase. The investment period is set between 2024 and 2029. “Startups are often in a very early phase where funding is difficult to secure, and there are significant risks related to technology, market, and team,” Niek Huizenga, fund manager at FTV, said in a statement. For this reason, the VC firm is also offering business support, networking opportunities, and guidance. The fund was created through the joint effort of local ecosystem players Triade, RUG Ventures, NV NOM, and Investeringsfonds Groningen. Back“Future Tech Ventures is the result of years of collaboration between experienced parties in the Northern Netherlands,” said Edward van der Meer, director of Triade. “By bringing together the strengths of [these partners] we can better support startups and position the region as a hotspot for high-tech innovation.” North Holland (which includes Amsterdam), South Holland, and North Brabant represent the largest startup clusters in the Netherlands. In 2023, they attracted 85% of the total Dutch VC investment. But efforts to strengthen the startup hubs across the entire country are increasing.
