TechTics and SMART of Saxion University test LitterBot at FBK Games TechTics and the research group Smart Mechatronics and Robotics (SMART) from Hogeschool Saxion tested the LitterBot on July 7 during the FBK Games in Hengelo. This innovative robot, which cleans up litter with a remotely controlled robotic arm, roamed around the Fanny Blankers-Koen Stadium to collect data for further development towards an autonomous driving system. SMART developed a "navigation backpack" with sensors to help the LitterBot map its surroundings. Additionally, tests were conducted with VR control of the robot, and visitors were asked for feedback. The data also serves as input for further development. In collaboration with Asimovo, TechTics will work on a simulation environment to test multiple scenarios around autonomous and safe driving of the robot in a digital setting.
