The EDPIA (The European Digital Payments Industry Alliance) welcomes the adoption by the European Parliament's Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee of its report on the Financial Data Access (#FiDA) proposal led by MEP Michiel Hoogeveen. In particular, we welcome the amendments that will ensure realistic implementation timelines for the development of financial data sharing schemes as well as the extension of the scope to operators of payment schemes and data used for conducting Know-Your-Customer processes of business consumers.   Additionally, EDPIA also welcomes the introduction of safeguards to ensure a fair compensation model which encourages the developments of efficient and high-quality data sharing schemes, guaranteed by regular dialogue between regulators and the industry.
