We’ve grown from a manufacturer of product displays and fixtures to an organization that creates genuine connections in retail and hospitality. We conceptualize, design and produce brand activations: stores (flagship-, brand-, concept- and pop-up stores), brand spaces, product presentations and other retail and hospitality experiences. We’ve evolved from a traditionally run company to an organization that’s passionately cultivating its philosophy of maximizing the personal potential of our team, clients and suppliers. The “S” in ESG— the social part, focusing on the support and well-being of our team—has a special place within Tchai. Every month, we come together for our company-wide meeting. During these gatherings, we not only discuss professional progress but also take time to share personal updates, fostering an open and inspiring environment. One of the unique aspects of our meetings is the ‘wind force’ check-in. Each team member shares their current state of mind using a wind force scale, from 1 (calm), to 6 (strong breeze), to 12 (hurricane). This allows us to measure how everyone is feeling and respond with care and support, especially when the winds are high. It’s our way of staying connected and looking out for each other. Another one, and the next one. 🎀 After the reveal of the first pilot store in Utrecht less than a month ago, we transformed Hunkemöller's second retail location in #Maastricht. The new store concept continues the brand’s evolution, embracing a softer, more feminine aesthetic. From Container to Clubhouse: Mauritania, West Africa 🌍 Positive impact. Through spaces. Grateful to have played a part in bringing this transformative project to life: a sports clubhouse built within a shipping container, designed to serve as a community hub in refugee camps and settlements worldwide. The latest clubhouse has been installed at the M’bera refugee camp in Mauritania, providing a safe and inclusive space for 100,000 Malian refugees to connect and play. Equipped with solar power, charging points, Wi-Fi, sports equipment, a large TV screen, and more, this space is all about fostering community and well-being. With KLABU's mission to expand to over 50 sites globally in the next decade, we are excited to continue supporting their vision and making a lasting impact. Isn’t storytelling just telling how sustainable or innovative you are as best you can? Kim Tchai: “Sure, that is possible, if sustainability or innovation is part of your story. Then you want to let the world know: why are we doing this, how does it fit our brand? But the other way around is also possible: if your core story is that you are a sustainable brand, you will behave accordingly. Then it becomes an intrinsic motivation to do many more sustainable things.” Vera van Beaumont: “That gets right to the heart of what ‘storytelling’ means. It has an inner and an outer dimension. On the inside, your brand essence is a driving force and compass that gives direction to your brand. Outwardly, you want to convey your story as strongly as possible. Showroom transformation for Hunkemöller!
How we transformed an empty space into a beautiful showroom… The last 5 weeks I have been busy creating a new showroom in the newly opened HQ in Almere. Hunkemöller Together with TCHAI and my lovely colleagues Janine Kaatee (Hurink) Patricia Beurskens Mariska Dikoski I was able to lead this project to a beautiful end result. I truly enjoyed every minute of it! From now on we have a dedicated space where we warmly welcome our partners, grow partnerships and present our collection beautifully!
