Our colleagues at Refresco France brilliantly captured the complete beverage production process - from raw material to warehousing. Our favorite part? Last week was #WorldQualityWeek, where we took the opportunity to reflect on the importance that Quality has in our daily operations, and the role every one of us plays in ensuring consistent Quality with every drink that rolls down the production line. 🧃 🔗 To strengthen our end-to-end approach toward quality at Refresco, we brought the European Procurement Team together to really explore our role in this year's theme: "Quality: From Compliance to Performance"   The 2-day session included a supplier visit to one of our Dutch production sites, Sittard, and an engaging workshop hosted by leading members of our Quality, Auditing, and Purchasing teams. In addition, our colleagues from Procurement reflected on how to engage further on Quality both internally and with our suppliers & partners. Come with us to the lush, rolling green hills of Germany where our Grünsfeld site is located 🍃   Thanks to its beautiful location, the facility is often referred to as the "little Gaulish village." Although it was built decades ago, the plant produces very little waste and contains substantial storage capacities considering its size. 🏭   As a workforce, their plant manager, Dominik Wiesner, highlights their motto 🗣️ "nothing is impossible" - which he explains is a mindset developed by constantly tackling challenges and trying out new ideas to improve and simplify their daily work.   With 88 employees, Dominik describes how the atmosphere is "very family-like, and I felt at home right away. At Refresco, we continuously look for innovative ways and solutions to produce soft drinks, fruit juices, and other beverages more sustainably. Reducing, recycling, and making packaging more sustainable is an important element of our ESG strategy. ♻️ One such solution is PEF, a biobased plastic alternative produced by Avantium, which enables us to offer an alternative sustainable packaging solution to our customers. 🏭 Earlier this week, we supported the opening of Avantiun's world-first FDCA factory in the north of the Netherlands which will manufacture the PEF that we will later use to package fruit juice for Albert Heijn - a local Dutch retailer. 🤝 We were honored to be joined by a very special guest: Queen Maxima of the Netherlands.
