💪Teaming up to combat crop pathogens At Protix, we're proud to be part of the 'Crop Residues Management 2.0: Breaking the Pathogen Cycle (Breakpaths)' project, a Public-Private Partnership initiative. This project aims to understand pathogen survival in crop residues across soil types and explore innovative treatments to manage pathogen populations. Last month, consortium partners gathered at the Wageningen Research station in Vredepeel, Netherlands, to apply various crop treatments for carrot and sugar beet. A fantastic example of #workingtogether in action!

Insects as a high-quality, low-footprint ingredient were high on the agenda at the Global Shrimp Forum 2024. Delphine Melchior, Director of Core Nutrition at Cargill Animal Nutrition & Health, nailed it when she said we need to work together as an industry to unlock the full potential of insects, positioning them as more than just a 1:1 fishmeal substitute. So, here’s our Protix call to forward-thinking feed manufacturers: let’s take her message to heart and launch larger-scale trials to uncover the unique functionalities that insects can offer, establishing them as a distinct and valuable category in feed ingredients. The future is ours to shape—together. Reach out to make it happen now! #Insectingredients #Aquanutrition #Lowfootprintfeed

Science meets Agriculture – Last week, the European insect sector came together at the IPIFF conference, showcasing incredible energy and a shared commitment to progress. Events like this highlight the sector’s strong sustainability and circularity credentials, demonstrating its potential to play a pivotal role in achieving the EU’s strategic goals. Unlocking this potential depends on key regulatory changes that support the industry’s growth and innovation. To guide this journey, IPIFF has outlined a roadmap focusing on three pillars for EU policy action over the next five years: ✅ Increasing competitiveness ✅ Promoting demand ✅ Catalysing financing As the world’s leading insect association, IPIFF (International Platform of Insects for Food and Feed) continues to champion the use of insects for feed and food. Together, we can drive the transformation toward a more sustainable future! #Sustainability #CircularEconomy #InsectProtein #FutureOfFood #Innovation
