Last week I attended Advertising Week 2025 and had pleasure of seeing OBERLAND’s “Diversity, Data & Dicks” panel. Lisa Topol dove deep into the strategy behind e.l.f.'s powerful "So Many Dicks" campaign, which calls out the underrepresentation of women on corporate boards. This panel was a fascinating look into how diversity isn't just a feel-good initiative but a driver of real, measurable business results. From the future of Pink Chip’s women-led business database to exploring the impact of diversity databases, we saw how cultural insights can fuel growth and innovation. Key takeaway: Companies that prioritize diversity aren't just making ethical choices, they're also making profitable business decisions that give themselves a competitive advantage. How do you make people true believers in what gender equality brings to organizations? This was a key topic of our Women in ETFs' event hosted at the Flow Traders Amsterdam office yesterday. It is clear the conversation has progressed over the past few years, and we are making strides, however do people truly under the impact gender quality has on business performance and society as a whole. We're thrilled to not only be part of this conversation and movement but to also be driving it forward for the trading and financial industry. Highlights from yesterday's session include; - Simply put "We don't want the crumbs, we want the pie" Diana van Maasdijk shared the power of data and how Equileap is playing a role in educating companies and equipping investors with gender-powered investment products. - "There are no excuses anymore, women are graduating the same levels as men, there is not an imbalance of intellect." Grace O'Brien from Pink Chip shared we have gone beyond awareness as women are coming into the workplace at an equal stating point, which means the conversation needs to progress. - During the fireside chat, the key takeaway was to start the conversation, whether that is with your employer, your bank, your colleagues or your social group. Without conversation there won't be progress. The evening, was also about data and how this empowers people and organizations to make decisions and changes. Did you know that in the Netherlands, there are more CEOs called Peter than female CEOs? That is a data point we want to change for the future!
