From Sweet Beginnings to Meaningful Connections 🍊🍉 What began with delicious pastries at the grand opening of Holandski Slatki in Ohrid turned into something even sweeter - a visit from Madam Ambassador Özlem Canel and Advisor Beti Bakovska of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to our Struga offices, last Thursday - December 5, 2024! 🇳🇱🍰 This visit was an incredible opportunity to share the mission of OrangeMelons - how our work in software development positively impacts not only our clients but also the communities we’re part of. 💻🌍 Together, we discussed the importance of innovation, the challenges we face as a growing team, and how our collaborative spirit enables us to overcome obstacles and thrive. Today, on International Day of Persons with Disabilities, we celebrate the resilience, courage, and unwavering spirit of individuals living with disabilities. It’s a reminder of the importance of inclusion, compassion, and community in creating a world where everyone has the opportunity to thrive. 🍊🍉 Start by becoming an advocate! Look around your community—if accessibility accommodations are lacking, speak up. Simple acts, like helping with groceries or delivering medication, can make a world of difference for someone living with a disability. 🌍 We also encourage learning new skills to better connect with and support people with disabilities. Whether it's learning sign language or understanding the appropriate terminology, taking small steps to engage with individuals can have a profound impact. In the spirit of inclusion, we want to share an inspiring story from our CEO, Ergin Borova, who recently swam 21 km to raise funds for the Care for Disabled Kids Foundation (CFDK) in Struga. His incredible journey highlights the power of community and the importance of supporting causes that uplift those with disabilities! Last Friday, 29.11, the OrangeMelons team 🍊🍉 was part of the grand opening of the "Holandski Slatki" pastry shop in Ohrid. The cafè serves delicious Dutch sweets and pastries. 🇳🇱🍰 As a Dutch-rooted company, we love supporting local businesses that bring people together in such unique and flavorful ways. This opening was extra special because Holandski Slatki’s owner, Mark Dijkstra, is the proud father of our intern, Yordi - a true family-business connection we couldn’t be prouder of! 🧡 We were also honored to meet Madam Ambassador of the Dutch Embassy Özlem Canel and Regional Economy and Trade Officer Mr. Ivan Iliev, whose presence reminded us how important it is to stay connected to Dutch culture.
