According to the SAS and Coleman Parkes Research study of 1,600 decision makers responsible for GenAI strategy and data analytics, Telecoms are at the forefront of GenAI adoption (https://lnkd.in/e2PR3WUX). 70% of #Telecoms are already using #GenAI, compared to the cross-industry average of 54%. 29% of Telecoms are either deploying or planning to deploy GenAI enterprise-wide. When it comes to future investment, Network Operators are again leading the way, with 89% planning to invest in GenAI in the next year. Open-source large language models (LLMs) are particularly popular among Telecoms, with 38% of organisations reporting to be using them, compared to an average of 29% across other industries. Finally, what we have been waiting for became reality, and yesterday we found ourselves at the first day of the #RawMaterialsWeek in Brussels, a flagship event of the sector, bringing together the industry, policymakers, and experts on #RawMaterials, looking to make connections, discover the most recent innovations, and learn from one another. 🤝 It was a particularly exciting and, if we're being honest, emotional day for our project - not only because a small part of our team got to see each other again after many months (photos to follow!), but because we saw our hard work for 2.5 years pay off. In TM Forum’s recent report, ‘Building an AI Strategy: Telcos Put the Foundations in Place’, Network Operators have identified over 100 use cases for integrating AI within their operations. Some of our key takeaways from the article are: 1️⃣ Bridging the Data Gap While Operators are relatively happy with the progress their organisations have made in making data available for #AI, they still lag behind in using Structured and Unstructured data alongside each other. Only 41% of interviewed Operators reported “doing a good job of it”. 💡Improve your holistic monitoring capabilities with #OptOSS AI by integrating both structured (metrics, indicators) and unstructured (logs, strings, configuration management data, customer complaints) time-series data across your network. 2️⃣ AI-ready Data The lack of clean, usable data and underlying context (how, when, where was the data obtained?, is it useful or not?) can lead to an inability/unwillingness to make data-driven decisions. Additionally, the lack of a common data model and the need to amalgamate structured and unstructured data from various providers result in more time spent on cleaning the data rather than analysing it to provide actionable insights. 💡Work effectively with raw data from day one with OptOSS AI to eliminate the dependency on pre-cleaned datasets or a common data model.
