📦 It's time to ship this package! After almost 3 years at FedEx Express, I’m going to leave this interim project in search for something new. I am having an immense split feeling of, at one hand leaving my precious and inspiring colleagues behind.
But also, the exhilaration of new potential waiting at the other side of the door. Three years is an absolute record for me, and a statement on how amazing the project is. That said, the world has changed. And I found myself digging more and more into the world of Artificial Intelligence. At first, because it was a cool new toy to play with. But then I felt it challenged me and gave a new spark of discovery. A path of discovery I want to pursue. The last two years I have been pushing AI within FedEx, and successfully so. But with my current role as a contractor, I’m limited in my reach. I want to do more with artificial intelligence, research & development and innovation as a whole. Now, more inspired than ever before, I’m opening my doors for new business. Looking for a fantastic role in Innovation, R&D and Artificial Intelligence (NLP/ML). So people ask me why i'm so silent on Linked-in. Well that's because I have a bit of hate/love relationship with the platform. At one end, I had a lot of help from people to introduce me into new opportunities but at the other end, it's like Facebook, which I (really) don't like. I don't do the "Look at me" posts, but I can give an update on what's going on in my professional life lately. As it has been requested quite some times now. So yeah,.. i'm still successfully running Neko Media, which has been switched to an LLC structure. (A bit of a hassle, but it's there!). I also still hold up to the vision to spend 10% of the time in pro-bono cases. Trying to make the world a little bit better with Neko Media, step by step. At the moment my pro bono time with Justdiggit / (Sander de Haas ) to set up a platform called Greenerland to help farmers around the world to make the soil more fertile and secure their future. I am also official promoting partner for Diergaarde Blijdorp - Rotterdam Zoo: https://lnkd.in/eNSDd8uU Next to that I still work for FedEx Express (2+ years) as an (AI) engineer, to work on their websites and tools globally. Which is a lot of fun to do. I try to keep things fresh and interesting by searching up new technologies and try to find the value. So, nowadays, my focus lies in Artificial Intelligence within FedEx. Not only generative AI (OpenAI) but also Local LLM's and platforms like Google Collab with libraries as SKLearn/NLTK. Shoutout to Ali, who went down that rabbit hole with me. So that's me in a nutshell, i might elaborate on things in the future. but let's see. Next year Neko Media will exist for 10 years! and I can only hope that it get the chance to exist for an upcoming 10 years. Until now I have done so with great passion and pleasure, and met wonderful people. I have gotten peaks behind the curtains of companies I couldn't even dream of. So let's stay curious, and see what the world can amaze me even more with.
