This year, GCA advanced key solutions to protect vulnerable communities, from integrating climate adaptation in urban infrastructure to implementing Nature-based Solutions #NbS, such as coastal restoration in Bangladesh. In Africa, GCA’s support for the Great Green Wall and Desert to Power initiatives highlighted adaptation's role in resilience and sustainable development. However, the 2024 State and Trends Report revealed a gap in adaptation finance. Looking ahead to 2025, GCA is focused on scaling investments, early warning systems, and inclusive, locally-led adaptation.
