⚡ CarbonX, revolutionizing battery anode materials, has announced the extension of among €4 million on its €10 million growth funding round, by existing shareholders Innovation Industries, Borski Fund, and new investor Energy Transition Fund Rotterdam managed by InnovationQuarter. An incredible milestone for this Dutch deep-tech start-up and Delft Enterprises portfolio company! ◾ With 95% of graphite - an essential battery component - sourced from China, global battery manufacturers face significant geopolitical and supply chain risks. Solutions that combine, scalability, cost-efficiency, and performance are scarce to non-existent. CarbonX offers a breakthrough alternative: a locally produced carbon anode material that matches the cost of Chinese graphite, delivering fast-charge and enhanced battery lifetime at the face value of reduced carbon footprint. The company’s carbon anode material is currently undergoing late-stage qualifications with several top 10 global battery cell manufacturers, paving the way for initial offtake agreements expected mid 2025. 👉🏼 Read up on the exciting developments here: https://lnkd.in/ee3J38YT hashtag#carbonx hashtag#portfolio hashtag#investment hashtag#graphite hashtag#carbonanode hashtag#batteries

⚒️ Congratulations C2CA Technology B.V.! The Delft Enterprises portfolio company has secured the funds required to build their first full scale commercial production facility, the major step towards their mission to build sustainable demand for circular materials in concrete and reduce global CO₂ emissions by 2%. The company raised €10 million to build a first of its kind concrete upcycling facility. ♻️ As the technological leader in waste concrete upcycling, C2CA Technology B.V. makes upcycling a practical, profitable, and sustainable choice. Their groundbreaking technology produces low-carbon concrete by transforming waste into high-performing substitute materials, providing a clear path to a sustainable competitive advantage. 🍾 Currently, the company already processed a thousand tons of waste concrete at their pilot facility in Hoorn (the Netherlands). The company's upcoming flagship project will be a new commercial factory (to start operating in 2025) to process 150,000 tons of waste concrete annually, setting a new standard in the industry. 👉🏼 Read up on developments here: https://lnkd.in/dxuf_rWB . 🏥 We're pleased to introduce, together with Leiden University Medical Center, our latest spin-off, XS Innovations! Globally, 2.5 million patients depend three times a week on a kidney dialysis machine as their lifeline. The high blood flow needed to be – “only” – four hours per session on this machine, is obtained through a surgically created connection between an artery and a vein in the arm. However, complications from this permanent open connection and the continuous 24/7 high blood flow require frequent interventions (1.5 to 2 per year) and follow-up surgery for each patient. 🩸 XS Innovations will drastically improve the quality of life of kidney patients by developing an implantable valve that opens the connection between artery and vein only when needed during dialysis, closing it the rest of the time. This makes it the only solution in the world that addresses the root cause of all known complications: the high blood flow rates. The revolutionary new design was co-invented by TU Delft's Tim Horeman-Franse (Associate Professor in Sustainable Surgery & Translational technology and Academic Portfolio Director (APD)-Medical technology) and PhD candidate Nick White, together with researchers from Leiden University Medical Center. 📍 XS Innovations aims to enter the market by 2029, ready to revolutionize the lives of more than half a million new patients each year. We wish the founding team – with two TU Delft alumni – success on this journey! 📷 Pictured Photo #1 (left to right): Toon Stilma (XS Innovations), Ronald Gelderblom (Delft Enterprises) 📷 Pictured Photo #2 (left to right): Koen van der Bogt, Maaike T., Joris Rotmans & Toon Stilma (XS Innovations) #delftenterprises #portfolio #xsinnovations #kidney #dialysis #startup #innovation #delft #leiden #leidenuniversity

🚀 We’re excited to announce the launch of TeleFlux, a new spin-off from the Offshore Engineering group at TU Delft | Civil Engineering and Geosciences! 🌊 TeleFlux is developing a contactless sensor to monitor steel structures in locations where direct contact isn’t feasible. Their first focus is offshore wind turbine foundations, where their technology measures stresses and accelerations without physical contact, using magnetic and optical methods. This improves foundation designs, reduces steel usage, optimizes the installation process in real-time, and extends the lifespan of foundations. 🌍 We wish the TeleFlux team (Reinder Jorritsma, Robert Hasselaar, Francesca Greco) all the best and much success on their entrpreneurial journey! #delftenterprises #spinoffs #portfolio #teleflux #sensor #sensortech #monitoring #offshore #windturbines #steelstructures

🍽️Delft Enterprises recently co-hosted a successful Startup Investor Dinner together with YES!Delft and the 4TU.Federation. The dinner brought together 30 promising tech start-ups and 23 (inter)national investors. 🔥 Carefully matched table seating ensured fruitful discussions between aligned start-ups and investors.“It was a great setting to meet investors. I particularly enjoyed the format with a different 1-on-1 match at every course, with opportunities to deep-dive into parts of the vision and strategy that normally don't make it in a pitch at a networking event." said Thijs Blad from MEMSYS. We’re looking forward to seeing and hearing more about the outcomes of the evening!
