D-Visor was one of the 12 innovative technology providers that took part in the SHRINEs Project Hackathon in Assisi last week. The SHRINEs Project is an EU-funded project that aims to raise awareness on security risks and enhance the protection in places of worship, and is a sister-project of the SAFE-CITIES project. D-Visor showcased it's D-Gem tool, a dynamic simulation platform with scenario builder for simulating various risk-scenario's; in this hackathon configured for terrorist attacks in historic and religious sites. It was a wonderful experience to see how innovations and science paired up with historic heritage and multi-faith religions. So many thanks from the head and the heart for inviting D-Visor. Representing my company D-Visor I was present at the Embassy of Safety Conference in Eindhoven. "How do we ensure that everyone can walk the streets safely at night? Or how do we help both victims and perpetrators recover after a crime? The Embassy of Safety collaborates on these kinds of issues with organisations in the safety domain, designers, and citizens".

https://lnkd.in/gjtPxWgj Sandra Potten, CEO of D-Visor was participating in this workshop about the influance of the new AI-Act regarding the SAFE-CITIES project.
📹 AI & the City 💃 A few days ago, the newly approved AI Act was at the center of discussion among SAFE-CITIES partners during the second project's Ethics Workshop. The event was organised by ISIG within the framework of T1.4 - Data, Legal, and Ethics Management. Among the topics discussed were the presentation of SAFE-CITIES Ethics and Data Protection Guidelines and Tools to ensure ethical compliance and robust data protection within the project, insights on the AI Act, and an interactive session to discuss and identify possible risks related to AI development. Agreement on the SAFE-CITIES action plan on this topic was also a key outcome. The debate was enriched by the presence of the Ethics Advisory Board’s external independent experts, who added significant value and perspective to SAFE-CITIES' reflections. When dealing with topics such as the security of public spaces, ensuring ethical compliance is key. That is why the insights and collaboration of all participants in the discussion are crucial for moving forward with the implementation of the SAFE-CITIES project. 🏆 The SAFE-CITIES Hackathon has come to an end! The jury has made their decision, and we now know the winners who proposed the most innovative solution, the most feasible implementation plan, and the best overall pitch related to our project’s challenges. And the winner is… the Samba team, representing Sapienza! 🥇 Representatives of this group received a set of prizes, including security keys and our goodies. They also will have the chance to participate in the SAFE-CITIES final demonstration, a cross-border event in Italy and Slovenia. Samba team, we hope to see you there! The level of competition was exceptionally high, and the decision was very difficult. Congratulations to the winners and also to the other teams for their effort and insightful ideas. Your innovative tools could significantly enhance our platform and improve the security of public spaces. #Innovation #PublicSafety #Hackathon #SafeCities European Research Executive Agency (REA) STAM S.r.l.
