biotactical is incubated on the Leiden Bio Science Park eco-system surrounded with innovative therapies and life sciences & health solutions with access to established pharmaceutical companies and network. From R&D to GMP production of our Rapid Microbial Method testkit and manufacturing of our instrument is done in-house. We have successfully reduced the current waiting time of 14 days to a consistent 48 hours for any pharmaceutical product from vaccines to ATMPs. With our platform technology we are able to provide help with AMR focused products and providing reliable data. Additionally, we guide and train our clients regarding their Pandemic Preparedness manufacturing strategy for life-saving pharmaceutical products and releasing them faster to the market and increasing production.

€𝟮.𝟱 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗺𝗶𝗰𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗱𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲, 𝗳𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿, 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗳𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲. 🎉 Through the NWO (Dutch Research Council) NXTGEN Hightech Future-proof High-tech Equipment call, our project has received €2.5 million in funding, with industrial partners contributing an additional €1.5 million. This brings the total project budget to €4 million! The consortium is led by Oluwafemi Ojambati from the University of Twente, in collaboration with Smart Mechatronics And RoboTics (SMART) Research Group from Saxion University of Applied Sciences and industrial partners biotactical and studio GYDIAR. Our mission? To develop a highly sensitive and reliable automated microbial detection system using #nanophotonics, #robotics, and #AI. Why does this matter? Microbial contamination is a major global challenge, contributing to diseases, foodborne illnesses, and hospital-acquired infections. Current detection methods are expensive, slow, and require highly skilled personnel, while more affordable alternatives often lack sensitivity and reliability. Human involvement in testing also increases the risk of cross-contamination, leading to faulty detections. Our project aims to overcome these limitations by creating a detection system that is more sensitive, fast, reliable and affordable, with no human intervention. - Femi’s group will focus on new nanophotonics-based detection methods. - My group will develop robotics and AI-driven automation to speed up the process while reducing human involvement. - Our industrial partners will focus on domain specific knowledge and #systemsengineering, and eventually advance the technology for commercialization.
