    Poverty Alleviation

Habinchi Africa in Fighting Poverty have been collaborating to advance learning on how to improve the economic benefits of trade with smallholder farmers. Growth in those farmers’ incomes is fundamental to economic and social development, to farmers’ ability to reinvest in their farms and to the sustainable supply of crops bought by global companies. This paper aims to clarify the roles and levers for companies and other actors, often working together, to help increase smallholder farmers’…

The 21st-century workplace is in inverse. Is it still atypical that the workplace has evolved from what’s perceived as normal? I opt to name it “the evolution of labour” very just like the infamous theory by way of Charles Robert Darwin that speaks to the science of evolution. “The evolution of man”.
What is perceived as normal is now subjective and odd to personal interpretation.

I like to think of failure as a precedent to success very synonymous to dirty cops and cash crops. I know this.
Sojourning through the school of hard knocks, I have come face to face with failure more times than one; As a matter of fact I know its scent, it stinks. Failure stared right back at me with strong facial features and a grin so defined daring me to try again.

Growing up to be the center of attention was one of the many rare privileges I had. I was a Steller student, extremely introverted, somewhat shy, but Steller still. High school was such a breeze. I already had my life planned out while still in college. There was no room for failure, how can I fail when I excelled at my academics and done everything by the book? Or so I thought. I have never been so wrong at the assumptions that seemed to add up at that time.

  • A tale of Africa, A tale of hope

    FARMERX

The tale of Africa is a sweet one that captivates the mind. I vividly remember while growing up, my history teacher explicitly told us the stories of different African countries, leaders and Africa’s wealth of resources. In another class, my agricultural science teacher knew how to trigger discussion on the green African pasture and the African green revolutionary movement. The first basic things I learnt was the history of agriculture in Africa and its traceability to economic growth.

It just might be my penchant for big words or “big grammar” as we choose to call it in this part of the world. When I hear a new word or terminology I am very inclined to look it up immediately, in part because we are encouraged to learn one new word daily in elementary school, but the truth is I like to know things, read things, research things just for knowledge sake and then go ahead to form my own unpopular opinion. Trust me I always have an unpopular opinion, you just name a topic and I…
