I'm excited to share that my article (Two years on - Mbiama Community bemoans impacts of the 2022 flood) was published by Sustainability Pathways For Africa . In this article, I highlighted the impacts of the 2022 flood in Mbiama Community. I went further to note the challenges the community has faced regarding the distribution of flood relief material and their plea to the government, NGO's and humanitarian organisations. I also noted the best measures to adopt in order to mitigate the impact of future flood disasters. Take out few minutes to go through it using and also share your thoughts and insights.

Last week, on behalf of Sustainability Pathways For Africa, I participated in the official launch event of Nigeria Wind Energy Council (NWEC) themed: Harnessing the Power of Wind for Nigeria’s Future. I believe there is immense potential for renewables such as #windenergy to contribute in closing the energy access gap in Nigeria 🇳🇬 and Africa 🌍. It was a pleasure to serve as a panelist on Building Capacity for Wind Energy in Nigeria, alongside Prof. Abdullahi Mati and Dr. Munir Aminu Husein, moderated by Sharon Kaburuk. Congratulations to Nigeria Wind Energy Council (NWEC), the Coordinator, Temitope Omowumi and the entire team as well as partners! 🌪️ Did you know? Windstorms made up 33.71% of all recorded environmental hazards in the first and second quarters of 2024. Thanks to our detailed database, we’re able to track and analyze these hazards, providing critical insights for better preparedness and response 🌍 By producing, analysing and disseminating early warning information on environmental risk and hazard, we help drive real solutions to protect communities from harsh environmental impacts. During our recent visit to Mbiama, Ahoada west LGA, we sensitized the community on early flood hazard preparedness and how to deploy conflict sensitivity methods to mitigate conflicts that may arise as a result of flood hazards. Community stakeholders were engaged in a productive meeting & had the opportunity to air their complaints & struggles with coping with the flood. The actions taken by Sustainability Pathways for Africa, as well as the community feedback, have been documented in our recent blog.
